My wife bought me Mainstage for Christmas. It's a resources hog (I put it on an older 13" Macbook), and I haven't had a chance to give it a good listen yet, but the feature set looks VERY impressive.

It's an extremely flexible and feature-rich environment. The amount of included content (amps, virtual instruments, plug-ins, etc.) at no cost, especially when you remember that this is a $30 product, is just crazy- it really reinforces just how unreasonable 1K's pricing is on Amplitube for IOS.

JamUp too, for that matter. Still, I suppose that when you're a pioneer on a relatively new platform, you can charge whatever the market will bear.

I'm using a passive MIA P-bass. The BDDI adds a ton of presence, so this compensates a little. I haven't tried it through my PA yet, just in ears. I may have to tweak it for live use.

I'm more in tune with the pricing of Jamup's add-ons than IK's, simply because IK just keeps relabeling the same crap we already have from them!! How many freakin chorus and fuzz pedals do we need?!?

$2.99 for a pedal, $5.99 for an amp in Jamup? I couldn't buy the real thing for that, and so far Jamup hasn't disappointed me.

Can't say the same for IK. I haven't even opened their app other than to make sure it works after the update. Amplitube sounds like crap since the update.

Jamup just keeps getting better, and the fact that they are on this thread and LISTENING to our needs, keeps me loyal to Positive Grid.

This thread moves so fast - I read each post and feel like responding to it...but then there are 10 more things!

First I would like to say (off topic) - happy freaking [belated] birthday AdamBomb! I've got 10 years on ya. And wait till you see how fast it comes! At age 40 the self accelerating concept of time kicks in, and it starts to go by scary fast!

Second, I would like to thank Calvin and the team at Positive Grid. I too am very excited that this company is actually listening to us. This is the way that a successful company will interact with it's customers in the future - and Positive Grid is bringing us the future (JamUp XT) and acting like they are in the future as far as "customer/product" interface.

Duke, my iTrack brother - thanks for starting this thread. I am old school, and never tried iOS - but I happened to ask Santa for the iTrack, and then this thread appeared! Pure magic.

Rip, you are constant inspiration - and this morning I was playing your "My" sound. Love it.

Steve_rolfeca - your insights and understanding of the technical side of things is enlightening. Thank You.

PrietoBass - you are my favorite gorilla!

Now...back to the "studio" to plant the seed for tomorrows hit! (Hopefully I'll add some of my own soundclouds soon - after I figure out how everything else works.)

The booster or the Rat for more "clear" OD....
What are you after, mod, gain, EQ?

I hear ya about the thread speed. I'm following as best I can, but I can't keep up.

For those trying to use AudioBus on a regular iPhone, here's something I've found: start JamUp and Multitrack DAW *before* you start AudioBus. Do not use AudioBus switcher icon. Once you've established the audio chain, leave AudioBus in the background and don't touch it.

Most of my time now is learning how to use Addictive Drums in Reaper. I'm working on a project that I hope to finish before the end of the year.

Back to the sub-basement.

Just something different really. Maybe the reverse delay.

I think the Rotary is quite interesting, the Q Tron is also an option.
I like the Spring 63 for light chord playing, kind of spice the tone a bit.
What about an amp? The Hiwat? The JCM800?
I've just got the JCM900, hmmm I've a problem, I think I'm a high gain Junky!!
But I do not really into very distorted or fuzzy sound.

The reverse delay is not really usable for anything else then some crazy effects.... But look who is talking.... I've used a drill last night with the reverse delay plus the rotary in front of the reverse delay!

Yeah but the drill was freakin COOL!!

Can you record something with the reverse delay, to show the effect a little more clearly?

Any of you veterans out there knows more about Ampegs?
I really like the B15, it's clarity is warmth is nice, but it lacks mids control and the lows can be muddy. THe SVT BL on the other side have this amazing low mods and mids in general. In addition the treble is more sparkling then the B15.
Is there an Ampeg model which is something in between these two amps? How is the V4B?
As it is now if I want to use the B15 I always have the BDDI ready to engage if I want a bit more SVT tone.
The B15 also reacts very well to the Rat or the booater in front.
The blue line on the other hand have lots of possibilities and I only need the LA-2A in front of it.
The GK RB800 lacks some "power" on its own, and usually a BDDI in front of it will sortie out
The Redhead is kind of like the SVT, I can of like it as it is.
The Marshall JCM800 is for me just as good bass amps the other bass amps, but only with my Ric which kind of works well with anything you connect it to...

Do you wants to do X country skiing? I thought you hated cold weather!
But, I also love roller skiing, but falling on the Tarmac is less forgiving then on snow!

Yeah, my days of skiing or roller skating are long gone. I can't even ride a bike anymore.

I go January 16th for the next surgery on my back. I've had five so far. They're planning three more.

I'm at the point now where there's a bar stool on stage with me, just in case I gotta sit down. It hasn't effected my playing at all, but jumping around on stage like I used to, just ain't happening.

Cool pedal!

What do you guys think about this pedal?

Johnk posted this one on the Fuzz/ distortion quest thread.
Very cool pedal, maybe Positive Grid can give us the Acoustic 360 in form of this pedal?

I'd be cool with that. Though I think having a vintage Acoustic amp model would be better, because it would free up the effects slot.
