This one is for you JimmyM.
The B15 1966 and the SVT Blue line. first I play each with fingers, then each one with a pick. I tried to deviate form my own tone in order to keep it more "familiar".
Which is which, and what do you think about these Ampegs? Is the Ampeg spirit in there?
I've used my Squier CV60 P bass with very old rounds, just so I will sound less like me! https://soundcloud.com/duke21/ampegs-on-jamup
While Duke's christmas present is midway NorwayxBrasil, I'm playing here with a borrowed iRig. Interesting that the best sound I've got from JamUp comes from the K800. My first bass amp, back in the 80's was a GK800. Then I went Ampeg until I got older and went for a lighter TC RH450. Maybe the "best sound" is something nostalgic...
How old are, not like it matters as we are virtual players :D
The GK RB800 have this high mids and treble sizzle which is very nice with my Fenders.
You say you are older?
How old are we guys in this thread?
I'm born at the 28.04.1971, so soon 42 years old. Damn, am I that old??
So I'm older then Adam, and maybe younger then Steve and Paul: I'm quite sure I'm younger then JimmyM and I'm quite very sure I'm younger then Lee Sklar!!!!!
Sorry Duke, I've got you by a few months. 4-22-1970, that means I turn 43 in April. Starting to forget things already!!
The K-800 in Jamup is one of my favs, too. But lately it seems I've been hanging out with Duke too much, because I've been playing with more high gain tones!! The Blueline/LA-2A is my amp of choice, the grind on the top end when you push it really reminds me of that old school heavy metal tone, like old Judas Priest. Sin After Sin is one of my favorite all-time albums, and lately I've been working on nailing Victim of Changes not-for-note. Ian Hill is an amazing bass player, highly overlooked.

Bah, you're just a bunch of kids! I'll be reaching the big Five-O in a few short months... I know I'm not the oldest one, am I? C'mon in... the water's warm.
First you said it sounded boxy then you praised the clever cab design. too.
Context is everything.
In the early 60's, there was no Eden or SWR, not even the Ampeg fridge. The first-generation Fender Bassman 4x10 had short-throw guitar speakers in an open-backed cabinet. Electric bass sounded pretty good on records, but on the gig, it sounded like the aftermath of a bad bean burrito.
Now imagine stepping on stage with a B-15, with a nicely ported cab, and getting a fuller, deeper, cleaner sound from 30 watts, than you got from a 50-watt Fender. That was the start of Jessie Oliver's legacy.

Absolutely. I do a lot of tube amp mods for guitards, but my customers often get more mileage out of a simple speaker swap.
I play bass through a little AudioKinesis cab these days, with a honkin' great radial horn and a 450-watt twelve. The crossover weighs more than my amp. With enough power, it makes a B-15 sound pretty wimpy.
But if you want a little "hair" on your notes, it's not going to do the trick. Without some cone action to smooth things out, even tube amp distortion tends to sound a bit thin and fizzy. If you've ever tried to DI the line out from a guitar amp, you know what I'm talking about.
In order to satisfy guys like Duke21, the designer at AudioKinesis had to create a cab called the Hathor, with a pair of cone midrange drivers to get some cone breakup happening.

No argument there, either. I'd rather play guitar through my Tweed Deluxe (two 6V6's, 1-knob tone control), than any Mesa or Marshall stack, half or full.
Of course, I'm pretty sure my Thunderchild cab would impress, too. ;-D
I see we get a tech lesson everyday! Great.
Btw the Prieto loophole 2ed work like a charm on my iPad 1!
Start Audiobus, choose input, choose Jamup as effect, choose MT DAW. Do not use the Audiobus navigation, just open and close Jamup/ MT DAW on demand. Great work Pietro!!

And the T shirt from IK multimedia with the color of your choice with the text/logo: "deleted post"
Sorry Brian, could not resist this one too drunk form too much good food!
But when it comes to it, soon we are going to celebrate new year, and I'm very excited to see what Positive Brings up in the coming update. We know iTrack support will be there. Will be interesting to see if IK multimedia fix the graphics on the B15R, address the reduced volume and increased noise issue, and of course give the Amplitube users something new.
Also, I will think the guys form Ampkit are up to a thing or two. Their 30pin interface will appear sooner or later. I'll not be surprised if they will come up with a new bass amp soon. Peavy classic 400? Ashdown Little Bastard?
I'm of course most exited with the new rumors/ talks about a new bass pack from Positive Grid. Derek mentioned that he will like to have Hartke and Markbass.
One bass amp which will be a killer is the Tech 21 VT 1969...... ! but can iOS handle 2 channels?
Japp, I've rigged now my iPad 1 with the iTrack, the PBDDI as a DI in front of the mic channel. So now I can use MT DAW and Audiobus.
As you can see, this is the best sounding Ibanez amp on earth!
