Thanks for the quick answers Rip and BluesMan845 -

My plan is to keep pushing the iPad2 until I hit a glitch - and I can see that I am heading toward AudioBus which I wanted to avoid; Now I see that it is the key to a lot of possibility.

So of course, I snagged it and have been playing with it. It's a REALLY cool keyboard synth. I use keys all the time in recordings so I'm familiar with a few different high end ones. This is right up there in terms of sounds.

I'll be spending a lot of time with this one.
The XS is for iPhone.

So, I paid $6.99 for the iPad version figuring that you know what you are talking about.

....5 minutes in and I'm hooked...

AudioBus here I come!

Here's something I just recorded (off the top of my head, so forgive the complete lack of anything!!)

I used Audiobus, connected Sunrizer through Jamup for extra effects, them sent it all to loopy for multiple takes.

http://soundcloud.com/rip_topaz/loopy-sunrizer-test

The drum beat was made in DM1, then imported into Loopy via Audiobus.

I love this ****!!

Sorry about the price difference. I only get to see iPhone prices in the App Store.

On my iPhone 4S, I totally just pushed it pretty hard with zero ill effects.
Audiobus, Sunriser XS, Jamup and Loopy all running at once and not a single glitch and zero latency.

That was my thought when I first hit a key. It sounds as good as my old guitarist's Korg keyboard. Just amazing quality.

Thanks!
The real redhead is phenomenal. I don't know where you read that it wasnt any good. It may have been that whoever posted it, just didn't like them because it didn't produce "their" sound. Or that they pushed the amp too hard too long and didnt really fully understand how to use it or set it at an optimum level and made the speakers burn out or had the bass crancked too much for its capability and farted out and creased the speakers. But the one I have played through was big round fat punchy clean and clear......and loud.
I had filled in for a guy who uses one. Playing with two guitarist a key player and a heavy hitting drummer and the thing never got drowned out and cut through the mix like butter.
The one in jamup has those incredibly nice low mids just like the real one and the lows are tight and well defined. Even if it doesn't sound exactly like the real one, the one jamup offers is so good that it offers a very nice sound to play with through PA support. It sounds really really close if not right on the money.
All the amps in jamup may not sound "exactly" like the originals, but they all allow you to have amazing tones that you can use live or with recording and it doesn't matter if its like the original. Jamup and others like it, offer their amp sims as a tool you can (with nice versatility) come up with "your tone" and sound great. Everyone wants to know what kind of amp someone uses, but as long as it sounds good then it is good. No matter the name on the amp.

And I think in the next couple of years as these amp sims become more widely used, a lot of that snobbery will vanish as vintage amps go the way of the digital replacements.

Nothing against the real thing , but as these amps get older, they will become studio tools and museum pieces, not touring amps. This is where the sims will come in, as replacement for the vintage pieces that the owners don't want to subject to the abuse of touring.

No the snobbery will always be there but your right about the road wear and vintage amps a lot of big stadium acts don't use the amps on stage it's all for show and the endorsements. Most go into tons of rack processing and then to FOH to get the "sound" they want.

Yes, this is great! I wonder how many threads have more posts then this one in these two weeks!!

Here is a play along I did today. Actually this one is more demanding then Tom Sayer due to finding the right tone and the timing.
So, At the end of the day by Mike Rutherford, an epic song, so this is for you guys:

On this one I used the BDDI into the SVT-BL with the Rotary stomp after in order to achieve a more bass pedal tone.

Gensis live in Rome, 400,00 came to see them in Circus Maximus, no amp on stage at all.
Rush, even Alex do not use amps on stage anymore, while Geddy didn't have an amp on stage for years.

With a DI or a mini mixer you will push a power amp. iPhone alone, well, it will depend on the power amp.

It's a QSC RMX 850. The thing I'm wondering is, what would I use to run to the DI or directly to the power amp? Since I would have to come out of the headphone jack of my iPhone, I guess I would need some sort of 1/8" to 1/4" cable?

Totally possible what kind of power amp do you have and what are you using to interface with it?
