...There's not very many supported apps, from what I remember. Jamup and Audiobus are not among the supported.
It may be a great interface, but if it doesn't work with "my" setup, there are others that do.
There's a lot of info on compatibility, etc. about the GuitarJack 2 on the Sonoma website. You have to use the utility in their apps to set the levels, select the active channel, etc., but then it apparently holds them when you go into other apps.
The connector doesn't lock (a pet peeve of mine). It's only 16-bit in, but the sound quality doesn't seem drastically different from the Apogee in the comparison videos.
I probably would have bought it over the Jam, if availability and pricing in Canada had been a bit better.
I spent some time today in the basement, plugged into the PA and cranked to a decent volume.
My chain: Dillion 5204 single coil P-bass w/ year-old Chromes flats-->Irig-->Behringer BDI21 (effect off, just for DI)-->Carvin RX1200L w/ 2 x dual 15" mains plus 18" powered sub. Also, the signal splits at the DI box and goes to my Acoustic B200 combo amp. I have the amp at a low volume aimed towards my mic stand, as my own monitor only. The PA is handling most of the room volume.
I wanted to get to know the Q-Tron that
I bought yesterday. I played through it for a bit last night, but with the kids going crazy I just couldn't really focus on getting anything serious done. So I set up a few presets of different amps with the Q-Tron in the chain, so I could switch between them and compare to find which ones best suited my needs.
As always, I ended up at the Blueline (though the B15 also sounds cool, with a different flavor!). Something about the treble response of the Blueline really works well with the envelope of the Q-Tron. This amp also works the best for me with the Mutron III.
This setting, with a passive P with flats, is great for some funk. I'm talking fingerstyle, groooovin', fonk!!
I couldn't stop playing with this pedal for at least a half hour, it was just so much fun!!
Positive Grid really got it right with the envelope filters. I'm not sure if they sound like the real thing, but again, I don't care.
Since I don't have any real way of recording decent clips yet without leaving my iPhone, I'm gonna try to shoot some video clips tomorrow to show some of these tones I'm finding.
Have a great night everyone!!
Coooool basement!!!!
I wish I was your neighbor!!!
And btw, is it an Ibanez bass? very cool rock-picture.

We have this GuitarJack 2 in Norway, and I've considered it. But lack of info, pluss the fact that one must use an other app to control gain/ volume made me going for the Apogee Jam.
The connector should lock! Such a "heavy" device should lock himself to the iDevice.
Over wise, if the GuitarJack2 was 24bit, had a locker, was not dependent on an own app for controlling the gain I would have bought it. It could function just as well as a headphone amp!! But then, there is no info about the drive capability of the GuitarJack2. Could this drive my AKG K701?? I'm not sure.

This is going to be a lot of fun! I can't wait to get back into the rehearsal room with my band and go straight into the PA and leave my amp at home.
Nice...... I like the beat too. If your pa can handle you ... Your band mates will love it.

Is that a skull I see on the left
This basement pic is like the one my friend has over at his place.....I need to go over there and rock it out a little. (He's a drummer and his brother is a rhythm player. We have quite a few songs that we have co-wrote together.... It's a lot of fun anyways)

Let us know how that works out for you. I am liking the BlueLine at the moment. May end up using it for the next studio trip.
It went well.....I did use the blueline first but the set list changed a bit and I used the blueline on all the songs last night and then the red on the last two. And I noticed that when I bumped up the gain with the EQ pedal after the red to be in "line" with the output of the blueline that i needed to back down the highest slider (3.2kHz) to tame the ultra highs a tad but it was a very sweet tone after that. All went according to plan and the band was great last night. It was a great time of worship and teaching.

I must say, Rip's PA fascinate me, both 15" and 18" in the basement! When Rip really dig in he must create these sub lows which reach all the way to the White House!! Obama must wander sometimes why the pictures on the wall shake from time to time....

Nah, but the wife does!!
Actually, I rarely even need to turn on the sub. The bottom 15's in the mains are crossed over as subs. Unless I'm playing at a super loud volume, there's no need for a sub.

Yeah, gonna try to record a bass cover tomorrow just to get to know the app. There a lot in there, but surprisingly easy to navigate, even on the iPhone.
I've taken some time to explore Multitrack DAW, and I'm pretty impressed with how intuitive the layout is. It took me less than five minutes (without any tutorials) to learn the app.
I'm very much used to working with recorders that use pages of menus to get things done, and the screen on my ancient Roland VS880EX is about the same size as my iPhone screen.
That said, Multitrack DAW is going to get a ton of use. The ease of setup is what first grabbed me.
With Audiobus, I connected Sunrizer XS through Jamup, then into MTDAW. I quickly through down a keyboard riff off the top of my head, then closed Sunrizer and opened Loopy. Imported a loop from DM1 (which I had already made, this was just to experiment, not actually record for real), then played it as a loop in Loopy. Switched to MTDAW and recorded a second track. Everything at this point is playing through the iPhone speaker, so I couldn't really tell the sound quality, but it wasn't any worse than normal.
Whew!!
So I recorded a two-track test, within five minutes of first opening the app. For a portable scratchpad, it already is a winner. I'll try a "real" recording and post to Soundcloud as soon as I can.
So it's MT DAW that you're using to control the gain input of the different 'tracks' or sources (say from DM1) as you play along, or combine them and record? I don't know how else to word this question...
The context for this question: I was playing with DM1 and JamUp (with a 3GS). The processor can handle both, but the [default?] output/gain of the DM1 drum track is much higher--louder--than JamUp's output. In other words, how can I control the volume of each independently - if I turn up JamUp it only [also] makes DM1 louder. Is there any way around this with a 3GS, while using DM1 and JamUp? It'd be nice to be able to at least play along while listening to it all at a balanced level while DM1 is running in the background. (Yes, I know: I'm limited with the 3GS, but I'm still trying to figure out what I can get away with. )
