If we have to pick UK brand, I'll like to see Ashdown before Trace Elliot,.
But I think Calvin's list is quite perfect, |

plug in my instruments
record several tracks
overlay some simple drum beats (not pre existing loops - want to play them in like a drum machine)
be able to export the file in some way, even if its just compressed and emailed or whatever.
cheers bros!

The first option is the most effective per Kan Erika komme til Tor om en time? today for several reasons.
My chain is Audiobus, Jamup for bass playing, DM1 drum machine, Sunrizer synth, Thumbjam synth and multitrack DAW as a recorder.

Jamup for bass.
DM1 & Loopy for drums.
Sunrizer XS for synth (iPhone)
MTDAW for recording.
Lots of other little fun stuff. Remember that even if an app appears useless, lots of times you can fun a way to make it work. Spend some time getting to know each app.
Loopy is especially fun. |

I've got JamUp with the bass expansion through the iRig, but I am not happy with the results. Too much noise, low-end output diminished by the unit's filter. Planning to pull the trigger on Apogee soon. Hopefully I can get a used one on eBay. The iRig HD might be cool, though they haven't announced a release date AFAIK. |

The Irig is a very noisy interface, but still workable. You will notice a very dramatic difference with the Jam. |

To me, the brand name doesn't matter. What's most important to me is that each amp has its own distinctive tone, so as they introduce new amps, we end up with more tonal options.
Positive Grid hasn't let us down so far. I'm placing my full trust in them to give us something we will all love. |

PG missed that little feature on their simulation and I requested they consider tweaking it. I also "believe" but I'm not 100% certain that G.I.V.E. tech was in the 800 RB.. one of the reasons is was THE amp of the 80's Quote:

The iRig HD might be cool, though they haven't announced a release date AFAIK. | I have been using iRig since it first came out and started one of the first discussion on the unit when just about no one else was using it. The fidelity is not on the same level as Apogee but some of the bashing the unit gets in not deserved because several of us have used it and continue to use it without all the problems others are having. I submit that it's possible there may be more noise coming from the bass that is plugged into the unit as a possible cause? I use a Carvin with active electronics and when run through Jamup, it is almost dead quite without the use of noise filters. I suppose it depends on what you are going after as a sound. If you're into the high gain with a sparkling top end , you will probably be better off with a digital interface. I prefer more meaty lows and throaty midrange with a dialed down top end so it works for me. The unit works best with JamUp due to almost no hiss. Quote:

Try and get in some of the new filters they included. If thats too much then maybe you can just update the 800 model to fully reflect what it was
The BrAssmaster is killer.. use the Germanium model . Wish I owned it as I would send it to you for sampling.
Not sure which OCTAVE you're after but make it a good one. EBS has had a long standing top performing Pedal. Include all the filters available on the pedal if you use it. http://soundcloud.com/ebs-soundsampl...-sound-samples |

Which models isn't as important as providing something that presents a new palette of sound we can play with. The first 4 bass amps did exactly that. I should have included in my post above that if you did model the 700RB-II it would basically be very similar to the 800 with some bells and whistles. Might be better to just spruce up the 800 with the BOOST and Mid Scoop you left off the first sim. |

What say you, sir?
What about iRif users? Like the Art Dual, I see that the iRif also uses the 30pin connector to send the signal Out, rather than the headphone out... I like this idea because it it'd help keep the mess of cables to a minimum (or at least a little more organized, as they'd already be oriented in the same direction); this also confirms for me (because I wasn't paying close enough attention, apparently) that the audio can indeed be sent Out through the 30pin and we're not limited to the headphone out: just the options/limitations of the particular interface.

But I think Calvin's list is quite perfect, | The reason I chose the Eden is because I haven't played through a gk before .... I have played through an Eden though.... Like the redhead when I used it, it made my mouth drop open and was floored about how good it sounded. It stuck with me. There is a gk app so I figured if I wanted more gk then I could go there but there are no EDEN out there at all.
And as the question on Trace Elliots .....no love here at all no....just kidding. I haven't played a real trace the only one I have played is in Amplitube's desktop version. It was ok. But I have nothing to go on....so..not on my list. But I haven't played an orange 200 either but hear rave reviews about it so it like the Eden and the redhead probably has it own distinct voice
I with rip about having different "voiced" amps to have as much variety as possible for different situations. Live I will switch the amp to fit the song throughout the playlist. Like last night I went from the red on the first two and the blueline on the third then the gk on the last two if fit the songs
