Just be you!

If I can build my drum parts quickly and then export them to MTDAW, then the workflow speeds up and I'm back in business.
I play drums, so being able to arrange the drum parts as fast as possible is very important to me. DM1 is great, and has its place, but I prefer a much more "live" approach. | GB has three kits (apart from the techno/house drum machine), both programmable and free style.Vintage, rock kit and live rock kit.Of course it has limitations , i mean you cant change the BPM (well you can ,but it takes so long going back and forth and importing stuff), but you can program the drums to play faster and slower and keeping the same BPM. I ll post a track at the end of my post to see the example. Quote:

I dont read music, but i know scales, modes,a bit of theory, and progressions.I learnt to solo a bit on piano from GB as well.Thank you for the compliment ! Quote:

Honestly, the best program I've ever used for drums was ACID Pro, but there's no such animal in the iOS world. | I bought Drumjam because of the audiobus compatibility, i used it only once or twice.I ve unistalled it. It is focused on exotic sounds, percussion, it's got these indian kits and stuff, plus i didnt like the sound of the rock kits, it sounded plastic and artificial. Of course you can play free style, but for me since i program my drums, its a no go.. https://soundcloud.com/evagelos-koudonas/november-noon
i suck in vocals, lyrics written by a best friend about a love affair gone bad. I really like the drums on this, i played a bit free style some moments to enhance the sound.
All made in GB and then polished on MTDAW

Based on all of this (I don't need exotic percussion either.) I'll be getting Garageband first, then Drumjam.
As primarily a ROCK player, the percussion sounds are very much secondary for me. I prefer to be able to build actual rock beats, and maybe add the bongos later!!
Guess I'll do a bit more research before committing but GB seems to be the way to go for getting a song up and running quickly. Even if I just build my beats in GB, then save the track and export to MTDAW, I should be able to get a song mapped out pretty quickly.
Hmm.. So many choices sometimes slows you down more than the limitations!! The iOS music making world being so new is definitely making this all very entertaining!! |

Yeah, you build your drum tracks, jam with your bass (jamup) with GB playing in the background and export your Gb drums to MTDAW and record with audiobus.
And i completely agree with your last comment for ios music |

Ok yeah I suck.....and it takes one to know one right? | There must be a misunderstanding...
There seems to be another "Adam Bomb", founder of the "Mediocre Bassists Club"...
His profile is here.
And the "sucky"... er,"mediocre" thread is here.
So, I though Adam (our "virtual" Adam), had created that thread. Now we know it must have been Adam's (our virtual "Adam") alter ego.
But seriously Adam, I meant no offense. What I meant to say is that I don't qualify for the "mediocre" club, not because I'm above it (but the opposite). However, the bass is just a hobby for me and I'm already getting out of it what I wanted to get out of it (connection point with my kid). I have no illusions, and no reputation (real or virtual) to maintain.
People are encouraged to participate on the cook-off regardless of skill; it's meant to be fun.

| | How does he do that? | | | | The above post just got me thinking...
I'll create a 3rd category: "Suckiest bassist that tried."
I know that I'll win that category hands down, and as Prieto Virtual Hot-Sounds Cook-Off Executive Producer, etc, etc, (and all the rest) and I hereby proclaim myself "winner-in-advance".
The prize? I'm thinking a few books and/or videos from BassBooks.com, or a MXR M288 octaver, or a combination of the above.

This setup is PERFECT for my new acoustic project. Everything I need is within reach. All I need to do now is upgrade my seat. The folding chair I'm using right now isn't very friendly to my back. |

Should finally be enough gain even for Duke 21!! |

Something really cool that Calvin didn't tell us about is the addition of Bluetooth support for Airturn!!
Yup, we can now turn effects on and off hands free!!
(Wow, I'm yelling a lot!!)
If anyone figures out how to add multiple pedals from each group, please post. I haven't found it yet.
The whole layout has changed. It looks great!! Can't wait till morning so I can plug in and check it out.
Great job Calvin (and the rest of Positive Grid)!!! |

When you double tap each pedal, on the left are a few little circles, below the selections. Press it, and it opens up the ability to change the pedal group and add your other pedal.
Looks like we give up one slot to dedicate it to another, I guess that's how to describe it. Not a problem, as far as I see it.
Cool application of this.
Now, to order the Airturn switch. The system suggested is $159. Yay, new tax time toy!!! |

The iOS music making world being so new is definitely making this all very entertaining!! | Not only percussion on Drumjam, but there are at least 3 drum kits on the live drums section based on some "known" drummers. I've never heard of them but then I do not listen to Maiden, Kiss, AC/DC etc so my knowledge outside prog rock is limited... |

Great job Calvin (and the rest of Positive Grid)!!! | No update in Norway yet!
Edit: had to manually search for Jamup, then I could see that I could update it!
Damn but I've to go to work now.... The endless gain will have to wait!
