So it was a little hard for me to catch what was going on with the red but I got a few compliments last night afterward on how nice and tight the bass was sounding through FOH. Beforehand during run though I was concentrating on the gk because I knew the red was gonna be fine during the actual performance. And like I said before "stellar" but it had been tweaked it seemed.

Did I read back before that jamup was getting the mic on the headphones but the jam was working on the input meter when headphones were unplugged?..... That may be the problem....have you tried a set of headphones that didn't have a built in mic. Cause the app could be going to default and seeing the headphones as an "iRig" type of device. And not going to the lightning port at all after its default headphone in port.

The airturn is a great looking unit but its designed for page turning apps, other apps have managed to get access to the sdk but ultimately that's what it's built for and that will be the support.
I don't think it's fair to write off IK on the foot switch just yet.
The price point puts it around the same as the second hand midi controllers I've been looking at and it will certainly give me more freedom.
So put me down for one assuming it arrives soon
Also DM1 and audiobus support = very happy

It almost seems as though the output of Jamup has increased across the board.
It's not a bad thing by any means. It's just that all of my presets reflect the levels before the update, so now I've gotta go through and reset volumes. Not a big deal, a little time consuming but it just gives me more time to tweak!!
One thing I wish Jamup had is the ability to delete presets. |

| +1
The IK pedal is looking a bit more sturdier since the "report" pics by rip on the side view of the airturn.
Before any actual real world users and reviews on the two products in comparison it's still up in the air. No pun intended

EDIT: Well, maybe not. It gives you the option of turning Airturn on, but it seems whatever device you use will have it's own app running in the background to route the midi. |

And not going to the lightning port at all after its default headphone in port. | I was able to replicate the behavior using four sets of headphones: the apple iphone earbuds (with mic), apple ipod headphones (without mic), 15 year old Sony Studio Monitor headphones, and some AKG K240s.
The two possibilities are that the lightning to 30 pin connector is bad, or the headphone jack in the iPad is pad. I think it is the 30 pin connector. When in GK and Jamup, the light on the Apogee Jam is Blue, and never goes green even with the gain up. Also, when used to plug in to my iMac, the iPad gets connectivity to iTunes but does not charge. (It does charge using a standard lightning to USB cable). That speaks to the 30 pin -> Lightning being bad. Time will tell. I really hope it's not the headphone jack, but it is definitely a possibility.

It's got Quarter Pounders and an active preamp in it, and the first thing I thought of after plugging it into my amp (sorry, my iPad was in another room), was Zeppelin.
My amplification is about as far as you can get from JPJ's rigs, so Jazz basses normally sound a bit thin through my gear.
However, the combination of the overwound neck pickup and the preamp was giving some of that huge, swampy Led Zep bottom. Just had to break out a little Ramble On... |

I'm thinking definitely getting the One or Duet I like how this will allow me to use a Softstep midi controller and potentially even power that over the USB connection.

Seeing how my The Circle evolved in MT DAW (19 tracks!!!), it gets a bit crowded in my iPad mini.... my next goal is getting an iPad 4.... All the editing and work on MT DAW needs a bit larger screen.
Btw, I've posted some new stuff on the Virt. Ampeg portaflex club. And we are VERY close to part II over there!! |

I totally love my Jam, but if Apogee offers an option with midi switching and/or the ability to provide power, I'm all in. |

The great thing about this is that more companies will follow and start putting out better interfaces too geared towards ios because there is a larger and larger consumer base.
