About, BUT, the VT bass can do stuff the SVT can't and you can put it in front of the SVT if you like this combo!

"The pedal works with a dedicated BlueBoard app that will take the Bluetooth signal, convert it to MIDI messages, and then route them to any Core-MIDI compatible app on your iOS device or Mac. The result is the ability to control functions of an app, such as AmpliTube or JamUp Pro XT Amp Effects Processor, in the middle of a performance without having to fumble around your iOS device’s touchscreen. It will work with apps on your Mac, too.

It’s also possible to fully customize the MIDI messages that are sent out by the four switches and two optional expression pedals. It’s easy to setup iRig BlueBoard to control patch changes, effects parameters, reverb, delay on/off – or any parameter that can be controlled via MIDI."

Given the rate at which developers and others are releasing apps and updates, I give it less than a month before JamUp and others start posting new BlueBoard-specific customizations...
This is actually the first I've heard about the Blueboard being anything other than proprietary to IK. Wasn't meaning it as a slag at all, but some kind of an appearance by IK could surely clear it all up.

Every picture we've seen so far shows a VERY IK looking patch editor for the Blueboard, and going off past experiences, that usually means it works for Amplitube ONLY.

I've long since let go of any ill will towards IK. I've got my setup, and I'm very happy with it.

The fact that the IK unit support expression pedal is a strong point.

VERY much so, which is why I commented that I hoped they would allow other apps to use it.

Det var fint av deg Adam å besøke vårt forum tråd om norske bass spillere!

Actually The compact size, support for expression pedal and price will make the IK unit a winner if it is well build.

I'm thinking of getting Jam/jamUp,
Which version for bass?
Sorry, too many posts to read the whole thread but I heard something about a bass expansion pack?

Yes, there's a bass expansion available as an in-app purchase for $9.99. It's totally worth it.

But if you're not interested in all the guitar amps and pedals, just get the free version and add the stuff you want.

The guitar amps could turn useful for example for running a guitar from Thumbjam through Jamup into MT DAW.

Very true. I've been finding myself adding guitar pedals recently as well.

When recording my guitar parts they come in very handy, indeed. But if you're strictly a bassist, then my earlier suggestion might be best.

You kinda gotta gauge what you want out of your iOS system. A few of us get really into recording our stuff, so the more amps and pedals the better.

If you're just gonna use it to play live, you may not need all the bells and whistles.

I was thinking more of an intense practice unit that fits in my pocket.
With the ability to write/record/learn stuff without having an amp or my studio handy.

A little off topic. Anyone use Bluetooth metronome during band practice? No reviews on app store. I started a new thread on this under "Technique".

Seems like a cool idea, very new though. I'd expect bugs.

Well, My I/O Dock arrived. This weekend is pretty much reserved for my gal, though, so I'll have more to say next week....

There will soon be a bass expansion 2

I also don't have any bad will toward IK because I want to see them excel but I know positive grid (jamup) will come out with their bass bundle 2 before IK puts out another 1 bass amp. That is sad. I wish nothing but good things for Brian and the crew but they are losing the game right now.
