Fully intending to buy an Apogee Jam last night, I got caught up in an internet discussion and lost track of time. I did a quick search last night and saw on a forum that someone used the Rocksmith cord along with the CCK with Jamup. I tried it this morning, and it works, though a little noisy. As an added bonus, the cord has a break-away part so hopefully you don't pull your iPad to the ground when you really get into it. I don't know how the iRig sounds compared to this, but I'd say this cord can save you a little money while you're saving up for a better interface. In my case, I'm shooting for the Focusrite 18i6.
As I've posted in the previous thread, I have Auria and would like to be able to plug in all of this at once, as my current band is a power trio and we rely on loop pedals (guitarist and I both have RC-300's) and synths to build up layers of sound along with lots of effects driven guitar and bass parts:
Akai Miniak
Roland Gaia
Korg Microsampler
RC-300
Pedal Board
Dean Q6
Whatever fretless I feel like playing that day.
(somedays I wish I would have just stuck with harmonica...)
I currently have a Souncraft 124FX Notebook and so I can have this hooked up live, but recording all of it has not happened yet due to my guitarist buddy having issues with Samplitude.
I have a jam today will just be bringing my six string, ipad, and a lot of cable. I'm equipped with Loopy HD, Jamup, and a whole bunch of synths. I'll be playing through my buddy's SVT-4 and Traynor 4x10. He's got an SBMM SR4, so I'll mess with that, too. The money I saved by not getting an Apogee Jam last night will go towards the Jamup bass bundle, audiobus and whatever bundles look fun on Jamup.

With that said, I am unclear about a couple of things. I think I asked a similar version of this question before, but there's a so much info on TB it can be confusing.
I read discussions elsewhere on the forums amps, combos and cabs. Seems like a lot of them are pushing quite a bit of power and some big speakers. You guys who are really into the device side of things don't seem to be doing the same. Can a idevice put out the same kind of power or are you going into an amp first when you need/want a more traditional with the device as kind of an effects or modeler rig? Does that only work if you end up going into a PA? Can you get by with a combo amp or is it better to get a head/cab for the ability to deal with whatever comes up?
From reading Rip's posts it doesn't seem like he is using anything but his iOS system and Adam is only using a speaker for himself on stage. Or that is how the soundguy sets it up or something. How does that work? Steve said something about going into his amp and pushing a cab (sweet looking setup btw). Steve's is one I kind of get but the rest is just beyond me right now. |

I monitor myself through an aviom in-ear system that I can set the whole bands mix and save to a preset to my liking for "my monitor" needs.

There is no power coming from the phone or ipad to power a real speaker. So you will need to run the iOS device as the starting point to help create the sound you want and from there you will need to run a cord into the amp/Combo or head/cab or DI to front of house for live/stage rig. I hope this makes since and explains what you were looking for. |

I know I'm not the only excited one here to hear the great news on the addition of the hpf as well to the bass pack 2

Jamup excels here where AT does not. As you know already.
