Great Rip.
And yes, we do not need any stinkin' bass amp!!

Duke21 02-05-2013 07:27 AM

Just to celebrate part III, I'm going to re-post a clip from the very end of part II. So, here is the "beta version" of The Circle (written on Tux Guitar):

Really liking it. How many tracks of drums do you have at this point?

Duke21 02-05-2013 11:01 AM

Hmm, I've no idea... Will have to go and count! Probably 8 or more. And I made drums tracks on NLog, Drumjam and Thumbjam.

Rip Topaz 02-05-2013 11:05 AM

Wow!! I had no idea you used that many!!

Duke21 02-05-2013 11:09 AM

As I always said, Neal Peart, Bill Bruford, Phil Collins, Mike Portnoy... Any of them would do it faster, better..... :D

Duke21 02-05-2013 02:08 PM

Sorry guys, but draft 14 is here..... :hiding:
Some new ideas regrading the final part. A bass duet instead of fuzzy synth

Duke, when you finally finish the Circle, you're gonna need to change the name just to avoid confusion.

Duke21 02-05-2013 03:38 PM

Not sure what you guys like better the final part on draft 13 or the final part of draft 14?
On draft 14 I've 2 basses in the very end instead of the synth fuzz.

Rip Topaz 02-05-2013 03:56 PM

14 is kicking ass. There's a few spots where the drums slip out of time but it's not really that noticeable. Other than that, the mix sounds great.

Bam! Sub'ed.

adambomb 02-05-2013 08:07 PM

i knew one of you guys would go ahead with the PART III if HeavyDuty had not made the next part by morning i was gonna go ahead with it.

I havent listened to the next drafts yet. i will soon....

i have listened to Rips 1st entry to the Preito's Red Hot Glorious Cook-off Extravaganza. it was very Motowny.

Rip Topaz 02-05-2013 08:17 PM

I'm gonna try to do a play along with that tone, to an actual Motown tune. I think it's gonna be a close fit.

vin*tone 02-05-2013 08:17 PM

I'll play.

I've been using Garageband on my iPad to sketch up grooves for my funk band. I used to use Multitrack on my ipod but it doesn't (at least I don't think...) loop drum samples.

These recordings are not intended to do anything but throw ideas to my drummer, guit, keys guys - and give the singer something to work with.

These are recorded with my 51RI P bass, Fralin split coil pup.

Guitar is a 70's Japanese 335 knock off. recorded straight into Garageband amp sims. They're surprisingly decent!

Interface is an Apogee Jam.

You go ahead and play dude ...What are you doing for bass is that straight in to GB too? dry? GB amp?

vin*tone 02-05-2013 08:28 PM

I saw your comment Rip. I'll knock out a solo snippet.

The 51 is one of those basses that sits well in a mix..... but TBH I really don't like it soloed :p

* Not quite the sparkling quality of your B15 clip. That's sweet!
