However I connected the iPad through the Behri BDi21 into the power amp at home for out of headphone practice and wow...it sounded great.
I liked the Blue Line the best followed by the B-15 for the dirtier rock sound I like and the RB-800 followed by the Ref for cleaner sounds. LA Comp was always on in front and I was trying the noise suppressors but I realized that I had to turn off Ultra Low Latency in settings because I was getting some noise and/or clicking but turning that off solved it so I didn't bother with the Noise Gate/Filter any longer.
All in all, quite enjoyable experience...nice sounds. Can't wait for Bass Pack 2. I don't currently have an amp- just the low powered Samson and the trace 115, but with JamUp I may not need more for my purposes.

| | | | Ok. Working on getting the iOS thing dialed in. Can you guys tell me if this will work?
Gear- active bass, IO Dock, iPad 1, headphones or PA
Planning to use jamup(I bought the bass pack) for recording and from there exporting my bass tracks to GarageBand for collaboration with guitar player.
For live/practice will use jamup.
Any tips? Will these scenarios work? Also, how best to play along to backing drum track while practicing? Use GarageBand and suffer through one of their guitar amp modellers OR export a drum track and open it for play along in jamup?
Thanks! This thread has been very informative guys!

Thanks! This thread has been very informative guys! | As long as you can export from JU to GB you should be OK with the iPAd1... I just received an iPad1 from my employer and loaded it with all these music apps the guys are using here. While it works fine with most of them (any that don't require iOS6) the iPad1 is NOT up to multi-tasking as is often done (ie: instances of JamUp, AudioBus, and MTDaw running together). I've given up on using the iPad1 one for multi-tasking with music in the manner typically discussed here.
I haven't tried running a backtrack and jamming to it (within JamUp) with the iPad1 yet...but if you keep it simple and all in one program you may be alright. If GB is necessary in the process, as you suggest, I'd use JU for the bassline and get it to GB to do what you need to do next.

Great thread. Thinking of heading this route.
Couple prelims: have we established that iTrack solo work with iphone?
Is iTouch4 lacking anything significant in performance for ampsim/recording of the sort being discussed here?

You will need CCK and a 7-12 volt power supply. since you can use a 9 volt battery I use a 9 volt supply. Just like most effect pedals use. | I also use the ART usb dual pre. Works with PC and iPad. Basically you can use the ART interface with a DAW such as Reaper which is also XP compat.

Still not a bad interface for double duty.

Yeah, seems like GB has a tough time running on the iPad 1.

Not sure though. Might have just been using GB.....yes, I realize this sounds odd.

| | | | So you can record using the JamUp amp directly to Garageband? That would be the bomb.
I can't try it right now. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
