I'm looking at the ART as well, just waiting for someone to post a good review. Unfortunately, this technology is still new enough that detailed reviews just don't exist for most of this stuff.
I'm down to either the ART or the Jam.
Does the ART give you any problems being that the inputs are left and right channels? Will I be able to run my bass into my iPhone with it and have bass in both channels with Amplitube? Looking at it, it doesn't seem to have a mono/stereo switch. That's my only concern, other than that it looks like the winner.
When you plug into any mono device and it enters AT it becomes a left and right in the app. I plug into the left and it comes back out to the ART I am only outputting the 1/4" left monitor out but if you are listening to the headphone/monitor out on the ART it is in both the left and right side so you could monitor out the headphone/monitor out in stereo. I haven't tried using both the left and right 1/4" monitor out yet. Since I've been DI'ing the left I haven't even thought of that. I'll update you after I get home tonight from work.

The iRig, all I can say it served me well, it is very simple, and it is the best solution when one use the headphone jack. But now the iRig will be no more the backup as the Apogee Jam give better sound. The tone contain more controlled bass, less hiss and better dynamics.
Mike Rutherford, At the end of the day, bass cover
Here is an old bass cover I've found on my HD.
Recorded on AT iOS, the amp is the "Bass" amp, thus the SVT CL kind of thing. I cant remember which cab I've used, but I think it is the 4x12"B cab, or maybe it is the old 15" cab.
Anyway, it was a bit difficult song to figure out as he use both bass and Moog Taurus bass pedals, the notes are soft and blend very well into the mix.
So, any way this is my "way" of interpreting this amazing song.

The iRig may be simple, but my new iRiffPort arrived yesterday and is much quieter with phones than the iRig Stomp. I found the iRig to be so hissy to be almost unusable with headphones.
At the current $60 I think it's a no-brainer so long as your iDevice has a 30 pin.

As I cuddled the porcupine he said I had none to blame, but me.

The iRiffPort is a strange interface. Is there a DAC inside there? I'm not sure, but they claim "32.0, 44.1, and 48.0 kHz sample rates
20 Hz to 20 kHz"
I've my thoughts about some limitations with this hardware, but I'll love to hear some clips!
No real way of doing so, and you wouldn't want to hear me anyway!
Sure there is and we do want to hear you believe me when I say I definitely need work. Grab you a free soundcloud account and free AT iOS and put it on out there lets hear that iriffport.

i havent heard.... the iU2 "looks" awesome what went wrong with it?
There are complaints about come-and-go connectivity, issues w/IOS 6, and now it's gone from both Sweetwater's IOS commentary, and the US Tascam website.
There was speculation that it might be because of copyright issues with the device name, and that the iU2 might be re-released at a later date. IMO, given the way patches and updates are quite often necessary after IOS updates, reasons don't matter: I wouldn't want to be relying on an unsupported device.
Ditto with the camera kit; an awful lot of customer reviews on the Apple website are reporting loss of function since IOS6.
This seems to be shaping up like Beta vs VHS, where market share matters more than features. If you've already got a class-compliant interface that's known to work (Auria has a good compatibility page on their site), then the CCK is cheap no-brainer, given the apple store's no-questions-asked return policy.
But if you're laying down the bucks to buy something new, I think it makes more sense to stick with Made-For-IOS devices that don't need a USB hub or CCK, and to stay with whatever is selling the most (and therefore stands a better chance of being supported in the long term).

Wow, that said a ton without any recommendation. No offense, cuz I totally agree, but what device would you suggest then?

.
I haven't lost anything with camera/USB adapter kit since iOS 6. Still kickin'.
It may be that the art is a usb1.1 (data I/O) instead of a USB 2.0 (powered by the USB port device).......... idk.... just a thought.
Is the loss of function with the iU2 and the adapter kit? Or lots of other devices too?

IK is speaking pretty cryptically on their boards. When I pushed for info, I got:
"Just wait for our 30-pin interface! I mean if we do, or yeah something like that"
And:
"We'll announce when we have information. We've been releasing interfaces and apps at an alarming rate, and added support for 30-pin in the mean time."
They're not saying anything more, but I'm still pushing.

So tell us this:
For those of us planning on buying new interfaces in the next three months, should we wait for IK?

I laughed real good at this.
Great question rip....... Lets see if it gets a response....... I can't believe they actually posted in the thread to begin with.
With our rep. I thought they would stay far away as possible
I've noticed you really poke and jab and let the IK guys have it... Often. Awesome!
