Thanks Adam for posting this issue with faked copies of the iRig!! I didn't know that there where such copies out there. Even though I should have assumes some manufactures from Asia will try to sell such copies....

Come on guys! iRig is just 3 connectors + some wire + the plastic case. It's quite straight forward to build one by yourself.
Sure there can be issues with counterfeits as there can be with iRig, but as long as it works...

I have to believe that at a selling price of 39.95 that is probably about 34.95 more than it costs to make the unit .
IK does not come across as a "user-friendly" company like the makers of AMPKIT do. The only reason I have not switched and stayed with AMPKIT is the recorder and song looper with AT are very good. I've emailed AMPKIT a number of times telling them if they could at least add the song looper feature that I would be swayed to stay with them.

Ampkit have its strong points. 3 bass heads and cabs, lots of mics, great metronome. But as you say the recorder and the song looper are not as good. For me the about main reason to go with AT is the tone. The Ashdown ABM 900 is the closest they came to AT but it is too boomy and lack some drive and the high mids are not as good as the B15R.
My bet is that Ampkit will come with two new bass heads before IK multimedia release one.
I'm kicking myself for not buying the B15 extensions for both iPhone and iPad the other day - I didn't realize they were on sale when they were at $4.99. Do they offer sales very often? I'm a cheap mo.

Think about that Jam Up where the first ones to release a bass pack!!
I wish Amplitube had exactly the same bass pack as Jam Up.... SVT VR, B15, SWR Redhead, GK RB800..... BDDI.... Knowing how well the B15R is one can only dream about the rest.

Just talking about Jamup, an update came today, so I fired it with Apogee to remind me how it is.
I'm not sure if it the update, the Apogee or me, but it sound better then last time (with the iRig). Its not only that the noise is reduced, but it seem like the tone in general is better. More beef on the low end, more clarity and a bit more edge.
Here is a short clip with the SWR Redhead.
I haven't had the chance to listen on great head phones but through the iPad speaker it's very clean and clear

I didn't even know about Jam Up until these few messages were posted. I downloaded it last night and bought the bass expansion pack but haven't tried it yet. Just the fact that they actually have a "BASS EXPANSION PACK" puts them ahead of the other two in my book. The bass amps they chose to model are also perfect choices. Well, gotta play with it know and see what it all sounds like!

Do any of you have your devices Jailbroken? My iPhone4 is and after updating CYDIA earlier this week, AMPLITUBE and JAM UP are NOT working properly. AMPKIT continues to work just fine. This sux! I just purchased the bass expansion pack for Jam Up and also had purchased a number of effects for Amplitube recently.

main reason was so I can tether my mac to my iphone without paying ridiculous charges to the carrier for data I already pay for. I also needed to change some carrier settings when switching to StraightTalk that aren't normally accessible. There are plenty of legitimate reasons like those to jailbreak, but granted the reasons are not as numerous as they used to be since Apple has lightened up a bit on what they will allow into the app store

I just tried Jamup for the first time since the update and WOW! That's a major improvement for what they called "bug fixes".
I'm running the free version but I bought the BDDI in app. It sounded pathetic before, but now the low end is MASSIVE through headphones. I haven't tried it through the PA yet. The highs are really clear and the mids are sweet if you're careful not to scoop them as per the BDDI's normal settings.
One thing that's really cool about Jamup: the noise filter pedal doesn't destroy the sound. In fact, other than the noise disappearing, you can't even tell the pedal is on!!
I can't wait to fire this pedal up with a drummer. I can see it working as well as Amplitube for live use, but how do you record in Jamup?
Rip, are you using iRig to connect? I thought maybe it was an issue with my iphone since it's jailbroken but I am testing the app on my iPad and there is no sound from my bass output with JamUp. Ampkit works fine. I've triple checked volumes and levels and the app is getting a signal from my bass but just not outputting to my powered speaker
