5sg. | The Jamup plug, I'm not sure if it is active or passive, but either way, it will not be much better the iRig (passive) or the Ampkit Link (active). As long as it uses the headphone socket there will be limitations.
You will have to follow these reviews to decide. Are these reviews made on a bass or a guitar? |

The Jamup is dead silent compared to the Irig. | Kind of what I figured about the headphone jack. Even without tweaking (aka using the Noise Filter), both the sound guy and I were reasonably pleased with my sound using Amplitube.
I'll keep working on it.

Please don't give up on Jamup, Prieto. It's still a powerful tool even without the extra bells and whistles that Audiobus adds. Besides, you're part of the gang now!! |

I have the Jam and I could never make the iRig work for me, but some people can. I figured I could pass that on to someone that may want to test the waters.

5sg. | Tell him to be careful it's the gateway interface.....
The iRig is still a viable tool I haven't tried it with JU...
My brother has been a guitarist for a while now from the drums all through school and college now he teaches guitar since he's been playing it for so long now.we were talking about amp sims and such and he knew how I always used my iPad and AT live all the time and has been intrigued to give AT a try live but has no iOS interface.... for the studio/music lessons we have AT3 and all but we know that it would not be as live friendly as an iOS device. I told him of JamUp and its superior bass amps than AT. But I couldn't tell him anything about Jamup's guitar amp sims. AT as I know it does have superior guitar amp sim with the fender pack and the slash pack. But since I have no experience with the jamup sims. I have heard jamup guitar amp sims on YouTube videos but......well that's it. I've also heard AT vs jamup guitar tracks and so far (from the videos) AT is still sounds better. I do have the ac30 sim on jamup but I think I still like the AC30 on AT better a little but that's all it takes is just a little bit better.
Do you guys have any of the guitar packs in JamUp?
Lets don't go crazy now.
I will still keep AT on my iPad even if I do get audiobus because the guitar amp sims......and those tracks are exportable.
But jamup's bass pack is the heavyweight champ for sure.

Except the guitar amps which are in Jamup by default I've for the Orange OR 30 and the Hiwat Hiway 103.
The Hiwat is well known for being bass friendly if you want overdriven tone. You can hear the Hiwat on my last clip recorded on the MT Daw. The Orange needs the BDDI to get "bass tone". |

But I'm not sure if I managed to squeeze the best quality out of this track. I chose 48kHz WAV on export (as the Apogee Jam support 48kHz), but later I saw that the sampling rate in the preferences section and Audiobus was sett on 44.1. So I put it on 48kHz. But that was after the recording was done and exported. |

That's painfully huge, and most people won't hear that quality when playing back. Uploading as an mp4 or whatever the compressed format is, is fine for Internet use. For actual recordings that will be burned to disc, I'd suggest the highest possible quality, even though the final mixdown will be 44.1hz. |

So my thinking is that better let SC decode the best WAV file then decode again a AAC/ MP4 file. But I'm not sure about that. Could be nice to get this info from SC! |

Could be nice to get this info from SC! | As soon as you upload it, it gets compressed anyway. If you're gonna put it online, your best bet is to use either 44.1 or 48. Any higher is just a waste because it'll get mangled down to whatever rate SC uses, or YouTube if that's where you put it. |

For my brother. I'm sure they are good from the videos I've seen but I haven't heard it in real life being used.

For my brother. I'm sure they are good from the videos I've seen but I haven't hear in real life used. | I've used the Vox with my acoustic/electric (soundhole covered with feedback buster) and I was able to get some pretty decent sounds. Keep in mind, though, that I haven't bought anything in app in Jamup other than the BDDI and the Mutron. But still, it sounded pretty good from what I could tell. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
