Thanks guys for the compliments.
I didn't play Tom Sawyer for a while, but decided to give it a go. I went for the Geddy for 2 reasons, the first, it is a Rush song, the second, I wanted to find a good tone with the Geddy. The B15 with the Turbo Rat seem to fit with the same setup both the Ric and the Geddy. I'll post pictures of my setup a bit later.
I'm very satisfied with the tone, as I managed to get some grit and aggressiveness in my tone without being buzzy/ fuzzy etc. That is where Jamup wins over AT iOS, I think. It is something about the highs and the mids, they have lots of definition and even if one use OD the tone stay quite clean. The lows are nice and tight, and do not distort as fast as on AT.
And then there are Audiobus and MT DAW. So easy to use, even easier then using the 8 track recorder on AT, but still much more options!
Thinking about it, Jamup and MT DAW answer all needs for recording, by far more complete then AT iOS.
I read what Peter wrote Paul about IK multimedia wanting to follow him/ us closer. Well, seem like a positive idea, but, I feel like they are a bit late. If they keep putting "so much" effort on guitar rather empty guitar packs then they have no chance!

Final word. I've updated my AT iOS on my iPad 1 (as it is too weak for the marvelous trio), but then AT didn't want to load..... Great update IK, I could not even see if you fixed the GUI on the B15R..... But then I'll not go sleepless about this issue.

Wow guys not just a post of mine was deleted from the IK forums but the entire thread bot the threads I started:
The "virtual bassist on iOS unite"
And "why so shady"
There are many threads that I have gone onto and posted the links to get to the iRig thread and the virtual portaflex thread inviting others to come join in or check out settings and sound clips and those have not been deleted.......yet.

That's good news. I want to continue....but there does need to be some "hashing it out"......and let's move forward.

Doesn't really matter to me either way. Jamup with MT DAW does absolutely everything I'd need, and with Loopy there's no end to what can be accomplished. IK can take as long as they want. I've found my sound without them.

I know but that was only yesterday and the first time I read it it was very late and I thought you said that our post had been deleted not the whole thing....I was surprised the whole thread not just the post were deleted. And yeah that was shady. Wow.
And you guys have gone through two more pages today when I wasn't looking we've (my family) been at a Christmas reunion thing all day today and then Christmas shopping by myself as soon as we got home. Been crazy out there.....

Speaking on which bass amp is the best on Jamup......lets not try to convince each other which is the best.....they are all kickin. Because the way my bass is voiced and the tone in my head I was looking for the redhead scratched that itch with the greatest of easy with nearly zero tweaking. With the inboard active EQ I can go from one song to the next by getting the tone I want from the EQ on my bass with small changes.

I didnt think that anyone would like the redhead best because of its clean tone i knew you would like it because it sounds great but.....All basses are voice a tad different with different strings and the tone in your head you want......I haven't even tried the b15 or the gk but for only a minute or two....before going back to the red I just fell in love with it back when I played the real one and to me it was what I was looking for ....as for it being just for ballads..lol... That's like saying the b15 is for only playing Motown. Or the svt is only good at 70s rock. They all are great sounding.....who knows I might look into the gk but I've never played a real gk so I don't know if it sounds like a gk but I'm sure it's very versatile.
im getting off subject but I know the red sounds like an SWR sounds it may not nail the redhead itself perfectly but I was wowed. After playing it live again it almost sounds like it had the voice of a redhead but it also had a SWR triad cabinet sound to it instead of two tens but it still sounds phenomenal.

You can tell all the heads are better for bass than the AT bass amps. They are just easier to get a great dynamic bass tone. It great

What we need to do now is see if we can get the default b15 sound and see if JimmyM will give us another crack at the new and improved b15, and see how it does to his ear. And if there is (and I'm sure there is) a gk "guru" here on TB and see how it stands. And the same with an "SWR" guy. The new and improved bass signal jamup is giving the real amp guys need to hear them. I don't need to hear if it will work in a mix or not because it (the jamup bass amps) does.

Hi,

I saw a DM go out on Twitter but figured it is easier to explain and contact you here. I'd like to reach out to a few bassists that have definitely given feedback and have an honest conversation.

I'm willing to set up an area on the forum where we can hash out some of the issues that I've seen cropping up lately in a direct manner. I'd say we could Skype sometime but that sounds kinda creepy for me to ask, and harder to wrangle everybody in real time. This would be in the interest of making you happier with IK in the long haul, not to sell you anything or that kind of thing. Setting it up this way could create a good "focus group" and it would give me a way to explain some things that could improve not only products (which you definitely have great ideas on) but also how my team as well as moderators here could all better understand where you are coming from and likewise.

Sound good? Let me know.

Thanks,

Peter
When is this supposed "focus group" gonna take place? Have you heard back. And...... Was the pm on this forum or theirs?

I like this part especially.

The PM was on their forum, and this is the last I've heard of it.

I tried Ampkit yesterday, I think it sounded a tad better, but I'm not sure, maybe it was a minor fix, thus really minor. But Jamup sound so damn good now that all the other companies should get their hand out of the pockets and onto the keyboards. They have some decent amount of programming to do!

I'm quite happy Rip got this PM from Peter. Show some positive intent from IK, or at least Peter. I've now idea what is Peters "rank" within IK compares to Brian or Obi.
But I actually would be even more impressed if also me and Adam got this PM, but then, me and Adam did not behave very well...
Anyway, Paul is a good ambassador, he is the most experienced and his way of writing is the most solid.
I'm not sure how much IK or Peter really care for us bass players, but Paul will let us know.
One thing I know, IK can take all the time they want, Jamup XT is that good right now with or without Audiobus and MT DAW regarding playing live performance. The only minus of Jamup with Audiobus and MT DAW is the need for dual core CPU, but that is the price development. AT also needs an A4 CPU as minimum, thus the one on iPad 1 or iPhone 4.

One little side note, I really like this group we created here on TB, we are not many, but all guys here are great fellows, and I learn a lot of stuff here day by day!
This group is actually the best thing to happen for me since I've joined TB!

My only concern with this IK thing is that it was their way of sweeping us under the rug. Keep in mind that there's NO WAY that "Peter" is his real name, for starters. This is no different than when you call India for tech support.

I'm lad you feel that way about our group. I second that. It's very rare for a thread like this to happen on TB, without disintegrating into a pissing match or not returning from thread derails. We've taken this thread so far off topic that I didn't think it could return, and it always does!!

Of course, I'll continue to talk with them in the hopes that something comes from it, but it would take a significant offering from IK to get me to fire up Amplitube again. Not that it works when I try!!

I also started a new thread this morning on the IK forum. We'll see how long it lasts.

Interesting. Hopefully they don't delete the thread... I'll definitely be watching to see how that one moves forward.

Here's a site to check out for loops.

Loopport.com

Still trying to figure out how to import them into iOS (may require downloading to the laptop first) but there seems to be a lot there to explore.

Posted a request for a G-K option to the new thread on the 1K forum. I hope everyone will chip in with their favourite bass-related amp and pedal flavours, too.

I suggest we try to keep it positive, and focused on desired bass tones.

If it turns into a whinefest about other concerns with 1K business practices, support, or pricing,, it won't help our cause...

Exactly. The level of bashing shown in the original post is as far as it should be taken. Lets give them enough rope to hang themselves.

We have asked for various amps many times, and usually we made it easy for them by asking for amps they have on AT 3. I do not see any altitude change form IK unless they got really scared now by the praises of Jamup etc.
