Just got a minty new Akai Unibass

Can't wait for rehearsal tonight.

And yes, I said minty new. Never been used, still in the original packaging. I am going to see how it stacks up against the Micro Pog. Was thinking of getting a Octron until I saw the Unibass.

Congrats.

That's a nice pedal.

If you couldn't get your hands on a Unibass a microPOG would've been a good alternative.

I already have a MicroPog. Not liking the digitalness of it. The Unibass has the same glitchy tone, but it has 5ths and 4ths! Tracking is worse though.

You're right there.

I never tried 4ths and 5ths on the Unibass. So I agree that the POG has shortcomings there.
I judged it as octaver.

And I thought tracking on the Unibass was fine.

Although it must be said that the POG and microPOG have the best tracking there is.

I just got one as well and I'm not too crazy either.

So if anyone needs one in great conditions let me know.

Hmmm...

I love that pedal.

But I don't need it.
I prefer the big POG.

The AKAI is an interesting thing, but there are off course better alternatives.

I am going to see if I should use the Unibass in conjunction with the MicroPog or not. I don't feel like having two pedals that have similar functions. Can't wait to see how the Unibass works with an external overdrive pedal.

Cool, let us know, I'd like to get some kind of octaver too but I don't know which one.
I tried the POG with a guitar once and when I cranked the input and the lower octave it gave me one of the best overdriven tone I ever got!!!
Then I tried it with a bass but it wasn't as nice...

Wow, the sound from the Unibass is huge! A bit too synthy for the band I was rehearsing with, but I will find a use for it. Getting the settings right for the input knob/distortion/noise is tricky. Need to see where it will fit with an overdrive/fuzz pedal.

How does it compare to the pog?

Well, I have a Micro Pog, not the normal Pog. The MicroPog is a really simple pedal, with basically three volume knobs. The UniBass has the added footswitchable melody mode (4th, 5th or solo) and distortion. Things are more controllable since you can control the input level and the noise. If you like crazy sounds, this pedal can create quite a bit of noise. It is not polyphonic, which makes noise making easier.

Sounds like a nice pedal to have.
