Just got a P & C and was wondering....

Sign in to disble this ad
Before anyone freaks out I just spent an hour or so searching(in addition to hours before I bought the thing) and have found some info but want to ask P & C owners where they put theirs on their pedal board and where they think I should put mine on my board.

My board currently consists of (in this order) micro pog
->LS-2 A send into BOD -> EP-2 -> Enigma-> return. B send -> BMS -> return LS-2 out -> Demeter compulator/Maxon CP9Pro+(not sure which I like better at this point).

I am thinking that eventually the P & C will replace the BMS(because of the wall wart!!!) but I will be experimenting with placement for quite a while until I hear what I like. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

FWIW my chain does this:

tuner > heliotrope > microPOG > P+C > devi bit > modded bassballs > wilson wah > OD > chorus > phaser > PS-3

I might have missed one, but you get the idea. before the modulation, after the pog.

To be honest I find it doesn't really work well with many other effects so its place in my chain is somewhat arbitrary. My only concern is that it comes before the modulation.

Thanks Crispy, I have a lot of experimenting to do. I think I will be putting it right after the Octave pedals in their own loop and put the Phaser and the Enigma(Mainly using this as a wah) in the other. I can't wait to try it!!!!!! BTW what mod did you have done to the bassballs?

Yeah, if I recall correctly, the octave before P+C was the only way the 2 would work. So long as you can throw modulation over the P+C you're good. Now that I think of it, putting a thick chorus after the P+C takes you to outer space

Oh and the bassballs mod is basic; the internal trimpots were externalized.

when i used a P&C in my rig it was after my OC2 and Wooly Mammoth, and then before my LPF and all modulation/delay pedals.

Well I spent most of my day off hooking up different combinations. The P & C is a fickle beast for sure. It does what I thought it would and it is really going to help my power requirements situation for sure.

I am going to take my BMS off the board mainly because of the power and it can get lost in the mix fairly easily. My Enigma, well uh, is living up to it's name. It is very much like the BMS where it sounds great in the bedroom but at band practice not so much. I was using it as a wah but now it will be part of the bedroom board.

So my current setup is(maybe until band practice!!!!!) LS-2 A send into the BOD-> P & C the B send into my MicroPog-> EP-2. The LS-2 out into my Demeter Compulator. I am really liking how everything sounds and am looking forward to band practice to see how this setup works there.

Thanks for the replies
