I love mine. Its very wet and funky. It does everything I want it to do without a bunch of useless features or silly sounds. I set mine up to the suggested setting that came in the single page owners manual and have never looked back. Its so nice to have such a well designed and fabulous sounding filter thats small, easy to power and simple to get the funk out of!

There is zero low end or volume loss when engaged and no volume spikes either. The Groove Regulator is pretty much perfect in my opinion.

Where did you order from? I've been waiting to see and hear what the Q-balls is all about, but I think I'm very close to taking the plunge for a GR.

I got mine slightly used from a fellow TB'r. I don't expect many to be available used for awhile as they are a little hard to come by.

I got one a few days ago, and its a great filter. As crabby said, the pedal is basically one big sweet spot- easy for anyone to turn on, plug in, and be funky without the risk of blowing up their speakers or overly complicated control schemes.

That said, I want all the extra knobs and options, so I think the Grinder is staying and the 3Leaf going.

I got mine at the start of summer. Spencer is a really great guy, the shipping was stupid fast (Seattle to Houston overnight!) and the tone, oh my god the tone! It's definitely an almost-always on pedal for me.

I ordered it from Bass Northwest. Same price as direct. Spencer was out, so I called BassNW.

I've been looking into getting another filter and am trying to choose between the Qtron+ and GR. How do they compare?

I have an FX25 and Octavius Squeezer on my board already. I'm guessing that they are both quite different to the Qtron or GR. Correct?

Yeah sorry about the wait....I had some issues getting components. Bass NW is getting the first ones from the new batch though, so your pedal should be shipping out next week.

Sonically, I would almost put the GR in between the OS's 00Funk filter circuit and the FX25-- almost sounds like a cross between the two, but definitely different and unique enough that I think it would make a great addition to your other filters.

I think the Qtron is more different sounding than the GR is compared to your other filters, but I'd still recommend it over the Qtron. The Qtron is the wettest filter of the bunch, but it also has an inherent volume spike due to the resonance/wetness, and it doesn't quite have the versatility of the 3leaf GR IMO. The 3leaf is also smaller than the qtron.

Hey, no good reason not to get both aye

I think I'll probably get a Q-tron first because I'll be able to find one second hand. I'm loving the clips I've heard of the GR though.

Anyone getting a good synth tone out of this when used w/an octave and gain pedal?

i just wanted to take a quick second and say how wonderful working with spencer was. First off in normal Talkbasser mode, he did me a HUGE solid. Secondly he was extremely easy to work with. but most importantly THIS PEDAL IS THE BEST FILTER ON THE MARKET. PERIOD! i have used more filters than i care to discuss and at a rehearsal my guitarist noticed i winced every time i turned my q tron on. the next day he tells me to order a 3 leaf on his dime for our upcoming recording sessions. HOLY CRAP this thing is perfect in every way. Great job spencer!

Fightthepower-- would you mind letting me get a chance to try one of these out while it's still local before you flip it?

I've been saying for a while that I'm happy with my AF-9 but if I were to replace it, it'd probably be a Groove Regulator based on the design, the reviews, and the samples I've heard.

Yeah Im sure we could arrange something. What part of town are you located Unrep? Im thinking you mentioned being the state area iirc? If you wanted to try it out for a day with your stuff, I wouldn't mind meeting up with you and letting you take it for the day, and then maybe drop it off to RCCollin's the next day or something like that. Or we could do it the other way around depending on people's schedules. Feel free to shoot me a PM
