That was my first effects pedal! Had it for a loooong time.

the compressor isn't too good, but not too bad either. Don't exagerrate in its settings (or do and destroy your sound intentionally )

the defretter is a fun sound.

eq is usable.

dirts were a no-no for me

reverb and delays were usable.

synth is identical to the syb-3
chorus sounded identical to a CE-3b to me

Having an expression pedal allows for some whammy-ing and other fun stuff.

the octaver tracked ok in my memory.

the tuner works very good (=TU-2 soft)

Hmmmm.... getting nostalgic

Got it for about €300, played for quite some years with it and got rid of it for about €100 I think.

I use one now, along with my new board that I've been building since last year.

I ordered a Stereo switcher from Loopmaster so I can switch between the two.

The effects are solid - Great synth sounds, tap-tempo delays, lush choruses, a killer envelope/auto wah, that OC-2-like octave, and a bunch of dirt. Add to that the slow gear (it's a manual slow gear), the over-the-top ring mod and some other pitch shifts - WIN!

Basehead,

Are you using modded/unique sounds, or factory settings for your favorites? I just started using my ME-8B and I'm trying to find some useable settings.

About 95% of my sounds were created by me. You really need to play with the parameters of each effect and how they interact with each other to get the train cool sounds. I'll try and post some of clips of some of my presets tonight.

ME-8B sound clip

Ok, just threw down this short clip. Took me a few minutes, so this isn't mixed or anything. Literally recorded the loop, played it back into my hard disk recorder and messed around on top of that...

For the initial riff, I created a loop using only the ME-8B into a Boss RC-50 (drums provided by the RC-50). The synthy octave tracks pretty well, but I am controlling my technique by not resting on the adjacent string between notes. The riff came immediately after getting to this preset...for me, the true testament of a creative tool!

After that, I switch to another custom preset (luckily, in the same bank) for the volume/delay swells. You can hear how it gets a bit lo-fi'y at the end as the delay trails off...

I'm providing a link since the other ideas in this set are works in progress and I'm not ready to have peeps check them out...yet:
