Just purchased a dbx 160a and..??

Sign in to disble this ad
a bbe 882i maximizer. Before I add it to my rig, I wanted to get a few opinions as to where in the chain I should put them to achieve the smoothest sound. I know typically the compressor is last in the chain, but I've heard of a few big players placing it wierd spots like before the head etc. That being said, where does that leave the maximizer? I'm really not in the mood to damage my cab so I'm looking to you, the experts on signal chains. My gear:

gk 1001rbII

dbx 160a

bbe maximizer

4x10 (or 2x12 depending on the gig)

thanks

i would place the dbx before the head so it neutralizes your bass notes without affecting the amp tone - and the sonic maximizer in the trash.
