Just Recieved the Korg Pandora Mini

This is a nice little piece of equipment. IMO just as much quality as the PX5D in a very small package. I'm amazed at how small this is... and only $99!! Also, they have introduced pitch adjustments for AUX IN audio which is pretty handy.

Still exploring.

I've been curious about this one. I'd love to see a review, I'm especially interested in the drum patterns, tuner, and headphone amp functions.

yeah, I have the PD4, and the one effect I do use is the pitch adjust. I just use it for learning tunes and practice, so all the rest of the FX seem like a waste to me.

I hope the new one eats batteries less than the mine!!

The PD4 & the PD5 also have pitch adjustments.

Strange. I didn't know that. I guess I never had to use it before.

Yeah, it's not the most intuitive user interface...

but it's in there.

And while it doesn't *sound* great, it is darned useful for learning tunes.

These tiny things are going to kill the resale price of the existing Presonus's out there.

It does not appear that the Pandora Mini (or the PX5D) have any provisions for a belt clip.

If any TBers come up with a viable (*) solution, please post.

(*) Rugged, reliable, reversible, non-destructive.

IMO, its a great little box for practicing and learning songs. the drum patterns are good. sounds and effects are plus too. and it can be powered by your PC through USB. pitch adjustment is there but my only gripe is, it has no sampler to slow down and loop those fast lines that i want to learn. i use my iRehearse on my macbook for this function.

Just got my mini last Friday. Very impressed with it: good metronome/drum beats, good sounds, relatively easy to edit your own amp settings.
Only flaw I have found so far is background noise. Don't know if it's caused by bad cable/headphones/... Not that annoying but if you guys have any suggestions on how to get rid of it, feel free to let me know.

Take care

Assuming the backlight can be turned off, what is the battery life on this thing both with and without backlight?

I remember a lot of complaints about battery life on the PX4 and PX5D, but I always got quite a bit of use out of them when the light was turned off.

Knowing how flexible and stretchable those silicon cases are for I-devices, I wonder if one could find something like that to work on either the Mini or PX5D....

are you using USB for power? i had a noise issue while powering it through USB. but i plugged it in to one of the external USB hub. i put it in direct to one of my macbook USB and the noise is gone! aside from that, powered by battery there is no noise for me.

It's not really noise, more of a "twang" when I hit the A string with a pick. There's also a voiceless whistling kind of sound (really don't know the word, maybe it's called 'white noise'?) whenever the strings are vibrating.

Yes it's got a pitch changer (which I haven't tried yet) and three chorus effects. Don't know about compression; I think it does but I'd double check on the website.
