Anyone tried using Kaoss Pad effects with their bass? |

I believe you would also need RCA to input jack connectors |

It is a bit difficult to use while playing bass
It has a hold function so you can set a position on the touchpad and it will stay activated. It can also remember short gestures, so if there's a pattern like a custom sweep or somesuch, it'll do that perpetually. If you get a bypass loop box you can choose an effect and stomp the box for effect on/off. If you get a midi controller, you can program it to do whatever (change effects, start and stop samples, etc) with your feet. It's an extra $120 or so, but a behringer midi foot controller should make it very usable live.
It has mic in and headphone out which have trim and volume controls respectively, so you shouldn't have a problem just using 1/4" cables.
It sounds very good and has a lot of interesting and useful effects. It's definitely a table-top unit, but if you get a midi controller you can use it on a pedal board. |

Sound pretty fantastic too.

Sound pretty fantastic too. | The Kaossilator is totally different -- it's a synth and drum arpeggiator built on the same interface. The Mini Kaoss Pad is the smaller, stripped down KP3, but it won't have nearly the same functionality. On the other hand you can probably just tape it to your bass and pretend you're Matt Bellamy. |

| | | | BUMP!
I was wondering if you can hook your bass right into the KP3 and use it as an effect pedal rather than just a stand alone. I know the bass can be put into it, but I have read mixed reviews on how well it functions as a live tool when playing the bass through it.

| | | | you can, but you'll have to match the input/output volumes, because it is a line level unit. Probably my fault, but it was quite noisy and clipped very easily. |

They are great for an oddball thing here or there, and some synths too, but they are really wacky and require some special cabling to hook up. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
