Does anyone know where you can get an attachment for a mic stand to rest a kaoss pad on.
It's basically an effects question

Soon it will be in my bass, so I won't need it though... |

I noticed it only seems to have RCA inputs/outputs. Does it eff up your "clean" sound? Do you figgit with the X Y controller while playing? Do you have 3 arms??

Or, run it through the effects loop... Works great. |

I'm considering acquiring one, but want to hear some of the advantages (as opposed to just using a typical multi-effects processor). I do understand how X Y controllers work but again.... I need 2 hands to play bass?!
Thanks!

I recently did a review on the Kaoss Pad 3 and talked about what it can do and how to use it and play bass at the same time. I also have a jam that I tossed up to demo the KP3 on my myspace page; it's called 'Goomba.'
Anyway, the controls depend on the effect -- for example on a basic low-pass LFO x would control speed and y would control frequency range. It's different for every effect. Also, it has 'hold' and 'pad motion' memorization buttons. If you use midi you can recall a patch with a specific coordinate held for very easy, pedal-like usage.
Big toe indeed -- just be careful |

This has interested me since the first time I saw Mat Bellamy with his Manson guitars

This is what it lookslike, for now. Add about 6 more to the front signal path, and possibly the Kaoss Pad in frony, before the output jack of a bass ( )
Who knows. I like it. I really want a Kaossilator.... Hey Toasted, can you send me one? |

I want to put a Kaossilator in it instead, cause of the arpeggiator, but I might settle...
I was thinking Kaoss Pad, with a Muff, and a wireless transmitter inside, with a lithium Ion battery pack to power it all. Plug the bass into the wall to charge it, and have 6 to 7 hours of battery, built in fuzz, and Arpeggiator, with no wires to trip over, or transmitters to attach to your belt...
But, alas... This is a dream. Alot of Naysayers talked me out of the full scale project... However, you effects guys might really dig this...
I guess we shall see... |

This has interested me since the first time I saw Mat Bellamy with his Manson guitars | Matt Bellamy has a full controller in his guitar. The whole thing is empty...
The idea with mine would incorporate the entire Kaoss Pad into the signal chain after the pickups. His is a switchable add on. Unfortunatly, Manson will not release how he did it...
I have tried. I even offered to pay him to build me one. No dice... I guess I'll do it on my own. My idea is 802.11n from the bass to the rig... Full midi over the air.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... |

I might still do it, or build a few and sell them here... |

Anyway, very cool proposed bass setup -- I'd love to see the specs. Really, you should add some more to it, like a bass sustainiac, and maybe a tuner. Oh, and a midi pickup.
How much is this thing gonna weigh? Also, did you say you were wirelessly transmitting a midi signal? |

The baody would be very empty, so it would not weigh much I don't think. As for adding more, I thought about adding an entire real pedal board, but the Basses guy started to complain about "What happens if something breaks" and apparently they don't under stand that you can bypass the effect, or replace it. they would be all stock stomp boxes... No canniblized Deep Impacts going in a bass anytime soon... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
