I've decided that since I'm bringing in so many new pedals some of them have to go to make room....But I'm stuck on the Envelope filters. I've got an NOS DOD lime green FX25, a ToneFactor 442 and a Boomstick Bottom Feeder. I'm keeping the Bottom Feeder for sure, and would like to hang onto one of the others but not both, and can't decide which one to let go of.
Which would you guys keep and which one would you put on the block?

Okay, one DOD bound for eBay then. Thanks!

So, if you have the Red one, sell it as it's just the same pedal as the BF which you already have. If you have the green one, sell it unless you use it with a guitar. Keep the DOD if you like the sound of it! |

Keep the DOD if you like the sound of it! | It's the green 442. The two of them sound very similar, similar enough that I don't really want to keep both. And like Mr. Pickles noted, the 442 has better resale ($120 for the 442 and $71 is what I paid for the FX25), plus it takes up less room on the board.
I do like the FX25, just not enough to keep it AND the 442.

| | | | interesting..
i say keep the FX25.
that way you have two different pedals, whereas keep the 442 and you have two of the same pedal, but one of them isnt as good on bass.
I don't think the resale value needs to come into consideration here because that doesnt affect how you sound, does it lol?
so i say: sell the 442. you get two different pedals, two different sounds, both good on bass
or not lol. up to you in the end. |

+1. Think that the 442 and Bottom Feeder are too similar. The FX-25 will give you a different flavour if you need. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
