The Klaxons have got some of the coolest bass sound ever. I cant find anything about it though, not even on there site's forum. So, can anyone help?

I'm pretty sure that the bass is always just a driving Ampeg SVT with a Rickenbacker... Nothing too special. |

Can't tell what the Cab is (it's behind the keys) but I'm sure someone here can.

I'm pretty sure on the first two the bass is just Ric --> SVT. On Magick it sounded like there was a double-track of the bass line during the chorus, with a wah/distortion combo overlaid on the clean track. On the last two there was def. a lot of fuzzy synthy dirt, but it was very hard to tell how much of it was from a driven SVT, how much was from a pedal-type effect, how much was overdubbed, how much was a keyboard doubling the bass, etc. On Gravity's Rainbow I think a simple fuzz pedal would get you most of the way there, but again I'm not saying that's all they did. |
