knob extensions?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas about extensions for knobs on pedals. Sort of like a 3 foot long knob () so you could tweak without bending over. Like the Tone in Progress 3rd Hand but cheaper and smaller, perhaps a length of PVC pipe glued to a knob?

There's this thing:

It's not for twiddling with your hand, but it definitely fits the description of "like a TIP 3rd hand but cheaper and smaller". There are actual metal rods that can be mechanically linked to a pot shaft, but it's probably more than you'd want to spend.

Apart from that, of course, most pedals can be modded to have expression control over most features, but the mod plus an expression pedal is again probably more than you want to spend.

Interesting, thanks for your input.
I did manage to rig up a piece of 1/2" Pex tubing onto the knob in question and it works pretty well but I don't know if I'd want to use it on stage as it's all friction fit at the moment and the only thing holding the tubing in the vertical position is a rubber band with one end pinned under a drum machine on my desk.

When I have a pedal or DI I need to have knob handy, I place it on top of my rig. I just have to turn and adjust the knob at waist high. Can't do that while singing, of course.

This is a delay/loop pedal and I sort of need to be able to use the tap tempo and/or record switch with my foot. The knob is the feedback or repeat and puts the pedal into hold mode when maxed. I like my loops to evolve intermittently. My ideal delay would have 3 switches: on/off, tap tempo, and hold.

Just add a zip tie to the tubing . Could you use a mic stand/ mic clip to position it?

Oh yeah! That's the ticket!
I'm not sure the TimeFactor has the delay time I require. At present I have 8 seconds but I'd like some more.
Does anyone know if the DD-20 has a hold function or a way to switch from delay to loop and back without loosing the delay/loop content?
