Mentioned this in another thread, but I figured I'd just start a new one.
Anyone know of some pedalboards that can house 2 or 3 shallow rack units? So far I've seen:
1. PedalPad MPS-XL: might not fit the 7" MIDI controller I have below the rack, and it looks to be extremely heavy- it removes a bit of the convenience factor if it weighs 50 pounds
2. PedalPad RM-10: out of production and haven't seen any for sale that will ship- I also don't know the weight
3. Pedalboards.com: They have a very cool folding rack system, but I have no idea on the prices, weight, or wait time on these- anyone know?
Any other notions or suggestions? |

Look for a SKB PS-100. They're discontinued, but they come up on Ebay every so often. Three rack spaces, a decent sized pedalboard, a couple of effects loops...should do the trick. |

Are they smaller than they appear? |

I used to have one but it's been a while, so this is an estimation...
The width is slightly more than a traditional rack width, probably about 21". Seems like the depth is roughly the same, essentially square. I would guess that the heighth is roughly 18".
The space with the rack essentially curves up off of the back of the pedalboard section, so you really don't get as much depth as it appears. I doubt a regular amp head or power amp would be close to being able to fit in that space.
It is somewhat bulky, as the cover is pretty much the same contour as the pedalboard itself and it doesn't stack real well. I'd still estimate it isn't anywhere as outrageous as the big PedalPad.
The Pedalboards.com stuff is probably a little more utilitarian, since I believe the racks fold down. Probably also a lot more expensive, although I've never gotten a quote. |

I guess I'll shoot the Pedal-racks guys an email. It's not like I desperately need a board with a rack or anything, but after recently getting my Pedaltrain, I realized I still have a lot of MIDI cables going back and forth between my rack and pedalboard, so a rack on the board would be ideal. |

Cheers.

Pretty pricey, although I'm not sure what other options there are. |
