Hi guys, did a search but couldn't find the info I was looking for. I've got my fuzz, distortion, and filter effects all taken care of. What I'm looking for is a multi that does some really good phaser/flange/chorus type effects. I've read on here that this one does it but there isn't a whole lot of info. Anyone have some direct experience that can offer some advice? I'm not necessarily looking for something to play out with, rather something that sounds good, fairly inexpensive, and can hook me up with some ambient spacey type sounds. I basically want to fool around with it.
Thanks!

I do hope you have a good buffer to run after it, though, as I can say nothing good about the bypass mechanism in the AX3000B.

the best thing about it is that its so open for tweaking. and setting the expression pedal to any parameter is also huge. room for tons of experimenting.
i'd gladly pay $500 for one. theyre only $200 new. highly, highly reccomended. |

I really dig how they sound. especially when I use it with distortion. it gives me a grungy but heavy sound. |

Similar to a Zoom B2 vs a B9.1ut?
Thanks. |

Way lower quality of A/D/A conversion, painless editing due to the lack of knobs. |

All fo the effects, save perhaps the wah which works in steps, sound FASNTASTIC. The pitch shifting could be better, but all of the modulations, filters, distortions, delays, reverbs and even the amp modelling is/are very good.
For the extrememly low price that you be paying, I can't see a better multi. When I go back into the studio I will definitely taking ti with me, along with my mountain of stompboxes, but I'm sure there will something on the unit which no amount of pedals could produce.
Get the AX3000B, it's fantastic, and the bypass really isn't as ****** as you may have been told. But as far as I see it, put it in a TB looper, job done!?

Rich | did you have to tweak lots of the ffects for using in studio / live???
Ive only tested it a few times but I found the background noise (ie when you aren't playing) was almost unforgivable where as my stomp boxes I have no issues with,... that said I could have just been doing something wrong,...
I'm not a big fan of the distortion tones in the 3000B but for the modulation etc I think it has a lot of good sounds and good control over them too via the volume pedal/effect control,...
I probably just need to spend time editing mine to get the sounds I like,... too much of a stomp box lazy boy now where I have specific pedals and thats all!

I used the same settings in both environments, studio and live, the engineer was perfectly happy with my live patches.
The background noise really isn't that bad, perhaps so on the gain effects, but think about a big muff or a rat or say a boss bass overdrive, same problem.
Yeah same here, I've got a single stomp for everything now, although for a time I used my Korg in conjunction with a number of pedals, just for ease and mroe variety. Great bit of kit IMO. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
