Korg DTR-1000 tuner into my GK BL600 issue?

Hi guys,

I have my Korg DTR-1000 tuner plugged into the 'Tuner Out' on the front of my Gallien-Krueger Backline 600 head.

Is there a way to leave the Korg tuner ON all the time but have it NOT register that i'm tuning without pulling the patch cable 1/2 way out?

In other words once i tune my bass should i just turn the Korg off or just pull the patch cable to keep the tuner from registering notes as i'm playing? I thought there was a way either through the Backline 600 head or on the Korg itself that i could tune then just press a switch that would stop the head from sending the signal to the 'Tuner Out' port when i'm not needing to tune.

there should be a jack where you can plug in and tune while still hearing yourself instead of muted tuning...no?

That's what the tuner out on GK amps does. But what the iNDiGLo is asking (I think...) is if there is a way to turn off the tuner out on GK amps so that the tuner doesn't keep showing the notes when playing onstage, or if there is a way to turn off the tuner other than pulling the plug partially out of the socket...

That being said... You could probably run a simple bypass pedal (or make one yourself) to allow the signal to the tuner to be cut at the click of a footswitch. Might want to look into Loop-Master or ask around on how to wire something like that up.

TheMutt, that is EXACTLY what i'm asking. I was just wondering for anyone else that uses this Korg tuner in their setup, after they tune do they turn it off? or is it somehow configured where they can 'take it out of the loop' but still leave it turned on.

I used to use a rack tuner before I changed over to a pedal tuner (StroboStomp2). I have used one of the older Korg rackmount tuners that I was borrowing from a friend. I used to just turn it on to tune before we started, and then leave it off for the rest of the time. But now that I have a pedal tuner, nobody else but me can see that I am in/out of tune.

I have the DTR 2000. I leave mine on. I have mine in my effects pedal chain and not into the tuner out. I should try that. Get one more thing out of the signal chain. I am pretty sure from the limited reading that I have done on the Korg rack tuners that there is no way to leave them on but off if you get what I am saying. They seem to be designed to run the light show all the time.
