I know a few of you out there tune to 435 Hz so I figured I would post this as finding a rack tuner that can do 435 is rare. The DTR tuners are only adjustable normally from 438-455 Hz
With the Korg DTR rack tuners you can tune your bass to 435 (or as low as 430) by doing the following:
- Tune your bass to 435 or whatever (I use a $10 cheap Korg hand held tuner)
- Hit an open note (A is recommended) and let it stabilize
- Push and hold in the Calibration button (Calib) until the display starts flashing and the A note shows in tune.
Voila! 435 tuning.
The one issue with this (and it is a big one for me) is that the tuner cannot remember this re-calibration and resets to 440 Hz when turned off.
Hopefully this post saves even a couple of you the time and effort of trying to figure this out.
