Yeah, especially for the price. There was a thread or two about this a few weeks(months?)ago- not telling you to *do a search*, but there may be some pertinent info in there already.

I just looked this up on Google before I came here! I like the demos, the simple controls (all the best basic analog synth stuff), and the fact that you can filter external sounds through it. I'd use it more for sci-fi fun sounds than anything else, but it seems to pack a lot of fun into a tiny $60 package.

Is there anything comparable to it in this price range?

My friend got one awhile ago and was messing with it at the restaurant we were eating lunch at. Out of the box it was the most annoying thing I ever heard. It reminds me of an old school alarm clock sound but worse. I'm sure you can get something out of it after some messing with it... The youtube demo I saw made it seem pretty cool so if that's what you're looking for go for it. If you have a smart phone (iPhone) you can get better stuff for free let alone paying for something.

This little synth seems similar and is apparently really easy to hack.

I have one. It's awesome -- super versatile, killer sub bass sounds, lots of weird stuff, lots of usable stuff -- get it. I'm using mine to soundtrack a friend's horror film and write bass lines when I travel.

Plus, the filter sounds great on bass. With a bypass looper you could even use it on your pedal board.

I have one. It can actually produce an impressive variety sounds and effects. However, I'm using it solely for adding sound effects for theatrical productions, etc., as I find (with it's ribbon keyboard) it's not practical to "play." I also tried running different types of signals through it (drum machine, bass, etc.), and haven't found the results to be anything that I would use.

yea its on my want list. plan to write an entire album with it.

it sounds much better when put through dignified speakers. the built in one is clearly terrible.
