Hey, I love MarloweDK's videos and he said he uses one of these. I just want to know how it works. Like can you plug your bass in it and headphones and listen to what you're playing?

| | | | Yes, absolutely! Next to the basses themselves, the Korg Pandora is my most used piece of equipment. The Aux input is in stereo and the audio is kept that way for the output. I connect a computer to play songs with Windows Media Player. This is great way to practice. Then there's all the amp and cabinet modeling for getting the sound that you want. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about the Pandora. |

I play through my PX4 roughly 1-2 hours a day, maybe 3-4 days a week, and I can go at least a month before changing the batteries. I just replaced them with lithiums, though, so we'll see how long these last.

I've been using my Pandora PX4B live for about 10 months now.
It gets a great sound and there are about 50 user presets that you
can modify and save, along with the factory presets (50 as well).
The PX4B is the bass version. Here's a picture of it:
Sadly it isn't in production anymore. Korg has put out another version
that is made for guitar and bass. Here's a picture of it:
This is the one that MarlowDK is using on Youtube.
If you do a search, you'll find a few posts about these little boxes.
They are primarily made as a practice tool, but if you don't need
to change your sound a lot live, they work great there as well.
Two final pictures, here's my "stage rig" with the PX4B and wireless
receiver on a clip-on music stand connected to my bass stand:
There's lots of information at the Korg website: http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?A_PROD_NO=PX4d
Like others have said, these are great little boxes, and have a
wide variety of tones and effects so you can tailor it to whatever
you need. I always run mine with the AC adapter so I can't tell
you about battery life. They do show up used quite a bit, or you
could always check out Ebay, there are many new/used there also.
Good luck.

USB interface... 180 different guitar and bass amps, cabinets... 100 user/100 preset effects that can be set to the 1-4 buttons... 744 rhythm and bass patterns... create chains that connect these patterns in any playback order, and specify a chord progression for the chain... 80 sec. phrase trainer... download software to edit programs, manage data libraries, create chains, and replace the demo songs (all on your computer)... play along with external audio source via the AUX jack or USB connector... transpose the key and/or cancel the bass... foot controller can be used to switch programs... built-in auto tuner... powered by batteries, AC adaptor, or USB bus power... Ableton Live Lite 6 Korg Edition bundled
Why it's not available here in the States is beyond me, so I e-mailed Mike (product support dept.) at Korg USA and asked if/when it would be available, and he said that nothing has been said yet. If you have about $250-300 to spend, you can get one now from overseas shops or on eBay (from Japan). |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Bedfordshire, UK | | | I have an old PX2 that I bought to use with my guitar years ago. I'm currently getting started on playing bass with a borrowed axe and no amp. I just tried the bass with the Pandora plus headphones and it sounds pretty good. There is also the bonus of having a simple drum machine to play along with.
I'm not too good at figuring out what effects to use. Any suggestions?

The Korg PX4D pandora is discontinued, the replacement model is the PX5D and the selling price is $239.99 + taxes and we do have them in stock.
Thank you and merry Christmas."
Well, i gotta blow out more of my bass savings now huh...
edit: so i'm guessing this is an improvement to the 4 model?

I'd buy the PX5 just for that. |
