I have a pandora that is 8 years old... I still use it today, great for drum beats to work on some riffs. I dont use 90% of its capabilities since its only used to just jam out on. I dont use it on gigs... Its good but not that good.

I have no experience with the Line 6.

They are both different animals. You don't make this very easy. Explain what you need.

+1 for the Korg. It's a lot smaller. Not sure if the Line6 does this, but if you attach the Pandora to a PC using a USB cable, you get the audio from the PC (for jamming to MP3's) AND it powers the device also. I found that to be pretty handy.

As others have said the PX5D is a great practice tool (the phrase trainer works ok too), but I'd never gig with it.

GET BOTH

In need of a headphone amp, I read about Line 6 in BP magazine. I bought the Pod xt. I am disappointed that it doesn't offer an aux-in. The floor model does offer aux-in, , however it costs a lot more. Later, I read about Pandora PX4B in BP and bought near-mint unit from EBAY. As it has an aux-in, I nearly always use it first for practice. Also, the Pandora can use batteries, thus it is totally portable. Both units require high quality headphones, to avoid unwanted distortion. Both offer many usable features, as well as "cheezy" sounds, which I find unusable. I hear sounds in commercials that I recognize from both units. I have used both as "pre amps" in my amps. Both sound great live, however, the Line 6 is more user friendly for on-the-fly changes.
I haven't used either to near their respective capacities, like interfacing with computers. I have noticed that after playing for the last 2 or so years through headphones, that playing "live" feels foreign. Both units are great. To answer between the Pandora or Pod xt, however, I would choose Pandora for practice and Line 6 for performance.. Compared to a Line 6 floor model? ..I am torn. I really do enjoy both and would quickly replace either, if lost or stolen. ... Sonus6Man.
