| | | | Korg pitchblack?

Anyone have experience with these tuner pedals? I need a tuner pedal since I'm really getting tired of having to unplug my cable from the amp and use my handheld korg (incredible tuner btw). Do these pedals hold up to the handheld quality?

It was a nice, simple tuner that I didn't have any issues with. It stood up fairly well for the time I had it. |

I originally wanted to get a Turbo Tuner, but settled for this one, due to finances. It does what it was made to do- tune your bass. The thing I'm very happy with is how quickly and accurately it grabs and tunes the B string (even picking it up as low as G). I'd recommend it for sure. |

I have had my Pitchblack for about 20 months, gigging four or five times a month. It works. It holds up. You can see it on a dark stage. It is accurate. It doesn't crap out on bass frequencies. As long as you put it in a patch of shade, you can see it OK during outdoor gigs, too. I can't think of any reason I would ever replace it. If it were lost or stolen, I would buy another identical one. |

- it's small
- the battery lasts forever
- the display is large and high-visibility
- good accuracy (I've used it for guitar and bass set-ups)
If you need more than that, there are many other options. For me, it does everything I need. |

There's no reason any working bassist shouldn't have a mutable tuner when a device of this quality is on the market at the price it is.
Get one. You won't regret it. |

The first Pitchblack I bought had a very distinct "true-bypass pop" when I hooked it up at home. I went back to the store and had to try two more pedals before finding one that didn't pop.
That aside, I've been very pleased with mine and use it for bass, tenor guitar, & uke. It's durable and handles them all seamlessly.
I've been trying to come up with an excuse to replace the Pitchblack with a Turbo Tuner, but I can't seem to come up with one... <|;^) |

My guitarist has one. It crapped out at a gig while we were on tour in Japan. He bought a Boss TU-3 to replace it and the TU-3 has been faultless. There is no switching noise at all, like my TU-2. The pitch-black still seems to work for our cellist, but it does make a horrible popping sound when you turn it on or off. Not good at a gig! Especially as she's going through a DI to the front of house. We keep telling her to buy her own tuner but to no avail...

| | | | I use a TU-2 which has been reliable for 10 years, and a Turbo Tuner. You might want to look at the Planet Waves tru-strobe. Strictly by the specs it's 10x more accurate (1 cent vs 0.1 cent) than a pitchblack for about the same price. |

| | | Well, I got the pitchblack today and love it so far! No pop and I'm glad that i did not buy the GC warranty, because it came with a 3 year (1 more than GC) manufacturer warranty!
Oh and it is just as accurate as my handheld korg that the director in concert band uses to tune the low brass
Only thing I forgot to get was another patch cable! D: good thing i'm not playing guitar at Fridays gig!

Its accurate, It has 4 modes of tuning, And picks up bass great. It replaced a behringer rack tuner which didnt track notes very quick. Mine doesnt pop or anything Maybe I got lucky? another option is if your amp has a 1/4 inch line out you can leave your tuner plugged into the line out and tune that way if needed.
