Korg Pitchblack Tuner Fix?

Sign in to disble this ad
I know there have been a lot of posts about the issue with the Korg Pitchblack concerning popping noise from the bypass circuit. However, I can't seem to find anyone that has successfully modded the pedal to solve the popping problem.

I am one of the unlucky ones that has a popping problem with my Pitchblack, and I would desperately like to fix it. The pop bugs the crap out of me and I don't want to downgrade by going back to a Boss TU-2. At this point I don't even care if I have to mod it so that it's not 'true bypass' anymore. I really like the pedal otherwise and I don't want to have to look for another tuner option...

The popping is coming from the relay inside of the pedal on the circuit board, not from the push switch.

I keep reading about using a resistor at the input/output capacitors and/or on the internal relay switch itself but I'm not exactly sure how to do this.

I'm pretty new to understanding mods/electronics, so any direction or assistance with this issue would be truly appreciated.

Thanks!
