Lack of true Dual FX - Very specific request

Sign in to disble this ad
First off, being a self proclaimed FX junkie and playing or owning every possible type of dirt box, I begain rearranging my board several weeks ago with stuff just sitting around....

Even though there are literally hundreds of boutique quality single FX out there, I have noticed a severe limitation with dual FX pedals.

Case in point - I wanted a quality flanger and phaser and my most recent purchase was the GNI flanger/phaser. This pedal is amazing - top notch build quality, amazing tone, and two separate but analog FX in one box. Awesome.

I'm in need of reverb and/or chorus and so far the only one that's near the top of my list is the Kilpatrick Chora Lush.

Are there any other suggestions you guys might have for dual modulation (without getting into digital multiFX) that offer 2 FX in a somewhat user friendly and great sounding box? Why aren't more builders offering FX like these? Is it just supply/demand?

Any info is appreciated

The only TC pedal that has multiple FX of different types is the modulator - but I don't get reverb
You see my issue now? The TC pedals are really nice and they are still in the back of my mind, just wondering if there were other options perhaps slightly more simple.

Oh, and I should add I would like something that works off a standard 9volt power supply so I can use my Pedal Power or Dunlop Brick.

The TC pedals require 12volts DC.

It's the cost of making/selling them, pure and simple.
--Costs more to make than two separate pedals due to larger housings, new machining templates, new graphics templates, new packaging sizes.
--Lower profit per unit because you can sell a single pedal for $300 but it's much harder to move a dual unit at $600.
--Only a few people will want whatever dual combination has been decided on, so the already small and finicky boutique effects market gets shrunk much further. This results in fewer sales, increased cost of production because short runs are very labor-inefficient, and greater burden from inventory that sits on the shelf unsold.

Yes, totally sad but true. I agree.

Dang, that Triton actually looks really cool. It's got to be digital of course, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I know you're making a specific request, but I'd like to know if there were threads about the GNI pedals.

I see they are getting some love around, but the company here that makes them have such a bad rep that I'm guessing they are selling more overseas than here in Brazil (at least I see some bashing in the brazilian forums, as well as threads saying they're great). They're available in music stores around here but I never bothered trying because: 1. price tag (way costy things...) 2. the company's bad rep.

I'm wondering if Poopshooter found what he's looking for 'cause I'm in the same boat. So far, I'm looking at the Chora Lush and the Z.Cat Q-Mod... does anyone have experience with either of this on bass?
