Large volume differences between pedals

Sign in to disble this ad
Searched the forum and couldn't find anything about this. I only have 2 pedals that I currently use live. A MF101 and bassballs. There is a huge difference in volume levels between each pedal.

For example, when I have my MF101 bypassed and the bass balls off it is very loud. If i activate the moogerfooger it gets alot quieter. If i turn on the bassballs with distortion it gets really loud. Bassballs without the distortion...not as loud.

Any advice on why this is happening would be appreciated. Is this something a compressor is used for to level off the volume between pedals? Thanks

Well the sensitivity knob on the bass balls turns into a volume knob in distortion mode, so that should solve that problem....

Some people have complained about the bypassing in Moog products.
What year is your Bassballs from?

Thinking about it more, just adjust the level of the mf101 to match the volume of your amp when it's off. The bassballs shouldn't effect it that much without distortion, and when distortion is on, use the knob to match the volume of the amp with it off.

thanks for the advice. I'll try it out. I didn't know that distortion mode turns it into volume. It's one of the older bigger bassballs.

Anyone know if the "older bigger bassballs" is TB or has reported issues on tone suck?

yeah, i have the bigger nyc BB and if you turn the knob all the way down in distoriton mode there is no more sound. So, if you had it pumped up for higher sensitivity in regular mode when you switch it to distortion it's gonna knock your pants off.

i think mooger foogers just cause problems, i've got the MF-105B and it does wierd things with volume lose as well, so i had to split the signal from my TU-2 as they have 2 out puts then use an AB switch to merge the signals again then use it by pass my fooger when im not using it
