So I got some Lava Cable.....looks like some very nice stuff and Mark is a sweetehart. I know how to strip the cable....very easy.....but the hard part for me is fitting the braid through the main conductor housing thing (dont know the term) is there any way that can help facilitate me putting that braid through? I can install the rest.....the plug and the rotating thing......but it says if braided cable is left out then there may be a short. Sorry if this sounds stupid but I dont know squat about doing this cable stuff. And please no.....George L's are better harr harr harr. Thanks.
hmmm. it's the step right after stripping the cable. it's putting the braid through that "weird metallic open thing". i suck at that part. but afterwards i'm good......when you put the plug and the right angle connector thing. sorry i say thing so much.....i dont know the terminology.
If it's the sleeve you're talking about, I found that using a "screwing" motion, gently twisting it as you push it through helps the braid to remain intact.
And fwiw, these are way better than that other brand.
i finally got it! thanks electricimprov! your board was actually the inspiration for me to get lava cables!
