Layout my looper
Working on a 2-loop series/parallel fx looper with dry blend n' stuff
Help me decide on a knob/switch layout..
I would like to include a graphic, but I suppose that idea would be secondary, if anyone gives me a GREAT reason for any layout. Feel free to suggest others.
The choices are :
I like C, it looks clean.
Damnit now that I posted I came up with like 8 better ones. C'est la vie
I think you should do D....but make the left and right footswitches slightly more North to the center one. I've owned quite a few of these and I always misfire and stomp two switches at once when they're level.
Im a pedal-at-hand-level kinda guy, so I forget feet stuff
I'm with MSUsousaphone, option D. Definitely take into consideration the placement of the stomp switches when they're that close, also remember that its possible to set the switches at different heights.
See, I liked D because of how the knobs were staggered, keeping the ergonomics in mind. Felt like it'd be easy to get at the knobs without tapping others..
My problem is that I feel like having mini toggles right on the corners is just ASKING to have to replace them over and over again..
I dunno, those little toggle switches are sturdy little buggers. I wouldn't say that a toggle is more prone to breaking than a knob/pot would be. I wouldn't worry about it IMO. You could use miniature toggles, rather than sub-miniature ones if you're worried about it.
