Leaving pedals powered?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, any body have any horror stories or advise about leaving pedals plugged in for long periods of time?? It's always been a question of mine and I get kinda nervous with pedals that have always blinking LEDs such as my M9 and Deluxe Memory Boy.

Btw I don't mean engaged, just connected to a power supply that's plugged in.

Thanks

How long is long?

Most people would've had their pedals plugged in for a few hours at a time a few times a week (band prac, gigs, recording etc). I've never read anything in the manfacturers manuals that state leaving them powered is dangerous, any more so than leaving your tv switched on at the wall 24/7, which most people also do.

I use a power strip to turn off all the LEDs when I'm not around.

I have band practice once a week, and have accidentally left my pedalboard plugged in all week several times. Never had a problem as a result. The only thing that could really go wrong is if you get a power spike or something.

If you plug into a surge protected power board, which you should anyway, power spikes shouldn't be a problem either
