My experience was that they look sexy as heck. Are you going to use the MIDI function?

I have one...it's not worth it to me as I really just need a looper and don't care about the extra tricks. it is nice and solid though.

I currently do not have a use for the midi feature (that i can think of off the top of my head at least), although I love the option of having it.

I'm just excited to get what seems to be one of the best, non-custom made, loop switchers out there.

Yeah, as I've mentioned many times here the Lehle I had was stellar quality, and I plan to get one or two more devices from them at some point.

I only have the smallest switcher they make, the Little Lehle, but man o man what a sweet switcher it is. Dead silent, and very clean. I can only imagine how sweet the bigger models are. At some point I may go with the 1@3, or 3@1, I forget which is which.

What I'm trying to go for is the ability to, obviously, keep my signal chain to the shortest, most efficient route at all times. also, the boss loopstation I use alters my tone in a way that I don't really care for, however I do not use it for "real time phrase loops" if you get my drift. I use it more for ambient loops and samples.

So, I'd like to be able to create the ambiance, and then use a combination of switchers to keep the loop going, but take my active signal out of that route.

dig?

[Deep Thought voice] Hmm... tricky. [/Deep Thought]

I would use an active blending circuit (active mini mixer or DIY blend circuit) to combine the clean signal and looped signal; and an A/B/Y switcher to direct my bass into the clean, loop, or both signal paths.

Bass --> ABY

A --> clean path

B --> loopstation

Y --> both clean and loopstation paths

Loopstation out --> minimixer input 1

clean path --> minimixer input 2

Mixer mono output --> amp

I think a Boss LS-2 will work as a mixer in this application. You definitely need an active mixer, a passive one will not do.

this is where i'm hazy on my lingo. y = a + b?

from what i gather, i would be spitting at the a/b, having clean and loop paths in parallel and bringing them back together into the (possible) LS-2, which can control the level of both clean and loop path inputs, which would then lead into the next stage of my signal path.

why is an active one necessary? and the difference between the two?

thanks for your input bongo, its appreciated.

Y = a fork in the road, a split of your signal into two simultaneous paths (rather than only turning right or left).

Passive mixers cause the signals to load each other down, causing tone loss and potentially feedback. Active mixers isolate the signal sources, preventing interference.
