Like a G6 effect

Sign in to disble this ad
What effect combination would you suggest to cop the synth tone on "Like a G6"? Our band leader has been putting more pop/hip hop/ club music in the line up lately and I'm just getting use to covering some of the synth tones as we don't have a keys player.

I'm guessing a ring modulator and an octave?

Any suggestions please. Here's a link:

You'd need a square wave osc, low-pass filter and portamento. The Octavius Squeezer would do a good job of this.

I wonder if I can tweak the tone out of my Deep Impact a bit then.

The DI is the only synth pedal I haven't owned so I couldn't tell you. I don't know how important the portamento effect will be or if you can get away with glissing. Give it a go.
