Lil help?

Hey guys, I've got enough dough for one of these, but I'm not sure which one's the more versatile/better one
I play usually Funk(Rock) to Alternative.

Here's the Digitech one:

Which one of these will give me the best quality for the money?

I've got 2or3 Behringer products,works OK for what they are but I've also got a practise room full of GOOD stuff.If you've got the money too spend,look around you'll find some GOOD stuff, its out there.

For build quality, behringer is about as low as you can go. For sound quality, I'd say its a toss up between the two. They offer different types of synth sounds, so I'd recommend searching for some soundclips of each and pick the one that sounds better to you.

If you can't many clips of the behringer (i know bigchiefbc recently posted a couple), then do a search for the Boss SYB-5; the behringer is a copy of the Boss SYB-5, and you can find clips of both the the SYB and the Digitech units on youtube.

For the types of music you listed, I think the Digitech's sounds and better tracking would be the most useful, but once you hear the youtube clips of both and search for peoples reviews/opinions of them here on talkbass, you should be able to make that informed decision by yourself

Which ever you decide on--- look for a used one!! You should be able to find either one used for $50 or less.

Personally I'm more of a fan of the sounds on the Behringer than the Digitech, but that's because I was looking for a synth that puts out a relatively pure waveform with a slow sweep for progressive/techno sounds. Since you're playing funk, you're probably going to the find the Digitech more useful. It has a more of that burpy, envelope filter sound than the Behringer.

The Digitech the standard recommended "Synth in a Box" on a budget pedal around here and with good reason. It's got a number of usable sounds and can double as a great sounding octave down. The build quality is solid. My guitarist bought mine just to play around with it. If you have the money or the time to save, spring for a used EHX Bass MicroSynth though. It's much much much better and more flexible.
