limiter/enhancer

I currently use a Boss LMB-3. I really like the tone I get with it, but as many of you know the pedal produces quite a lot of hiss. I know the hiss comes from the enhance knob. The thing is that I really like the tone when enhance is on 11. I tried to get that sound with eq tweaking but without success.
So my question is: Is there a pedal that does the same thing as the lmb-3 (or maybe only the enhance function) without the hiss?

thanks,
Ajak

This one. It can be bought for 50 $ used. Mine wasn't noisy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the "enhance" knob is just a mid-scooping knob. Can you adjust your eq"

To emulate the LMB's "enhance" using a different EQ, cut a narrow notch at 2 KHz, and boost a spike at around 4.5 KHz. See the graph here for more detail: http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/bosslm2b.shtml
The deal with the hiss is twofold: first, boosting everything above 4.5 KHz will always boost any noise that's already in your chain. So you have to eliminate noise from your bass or any other pedals. Second, the gain stage in the LMB is not the greatest, so you will get better results using an EQ that is inherently less noisy.

I'd suggest the Empress Parametric EQ might be the most practical replacement option.

Exar's business is on hold for now. I will still help previous customers.

I tried to adjust the eq, but it seems the frequencies aren't set right to get this kind of tone. I will try the parametric eq as well as the Sonic Stomp if possible. But I'll wait until I get my VT Bass Deluxe.

Thanks
