Linden EQ or Fat Boost?

Both.

I had a big-stage 20 minute set thing a few days ago. Backline was there - I could have carried but didn't feel like it given the specifics. So I threw a couple pedals on my PT Jr that I usually use when playing guitar just in case. I haven't gigged any pedals since I landed on a Schro 21012L and Demeter VTBP-201 setup, but I have a Barber Linden EQ from when I was running SS combos. I recently picked up a Fulltone Fat-Boost 3 as well to kick around but hadn't tried it other than with a UBass once.

Well, for kicks I plugged first into the Linden, then the FB-3 (fed by a 12V jack on my Voodoo Labs), set all the knobs right around 1:00 (more or less unity through both units) and packed it up.

So I get there and the amp is stage right and won't get moved. I take a quick poll and everyone would be more comfortable with me in my usual place at SL as long as they can get enough in the mons. They had decent side-fills and Yorkie TX2 wedges, so I gave it a whirl.

Man, what a chunky/thick rock sound out of those wedges. If I had my druthers a little compression would have been nice so I could have been lazier with the right hand, but it worked out really well. We didn't even put any in the sides.

Either one on its own would have worked just fine, but the two together was close enough to a miced B15 in this situation. A nice surprise when I was prepared to accept less.

the bass was my old G&L SB-1 strung with 4 year old TI flats. 2 tunes w/ pick, 3 without.

Wow I put picked up a fulltone fat boost 3 a few weeks ago. Really dig the comp sound I'm getting. Never tried a linden eq. Sounds nice

yeah, they really seem to work well together. I had planned to just use the FB-3 for the pick tunes, but it sounded so good I left it on the whole time.

I was really surprised when I got it. I was using it at the end of my pedals since I'm using wireless. It really made a difference in bringing back the tone. Now I took out my comp and I'm using it just the fat boost.
