Line 6 Bass Floor Pod - set up

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I have just bought a Line 6 Bass Floor Pod on the 'bay and am after a little advice for setting it up.

Have a Laney HCM65B amp that has an effects loop. Should i connect the Floor Pod between my bass and the amp or in the effects loop? Any idea if the effects loop bypasses the amps EQ?

Also, if you happen to have any other good advice or tips with regards to the Bass Floor Pod feel free to pitch in!

Cheers,

plug it in between your bass and amp.

i think the EQ should bypass the preamp. The recommended place to put the Bass Floor POD is in the effects loop, because the floor POD has amp emulation. But you should try it out and see what works best for you. I have a Bass POD XT Live (the predecessor to the Floor POD), and I used to put it in front of an amp, but recently I've used it in the effects loop. Best to try it out and see which you prefer.

have had the floor pod for a couple of days and have settled on bass-pod-amp. If i plug in to the effects loop it sounds a bit 'lifeless' if that makes sense. It's just missing something!

(edit: that may be because my third lead is ancient and wasn't very good in the first place)
