Line 6 bass pod chorus settings?

Sign in to disble this ad
BOD xt live:- None of the choruses sound good. I want to have the existing phat sound (Detroit for example) and just add some chorus. The trouble is when i do that the bass and all the punch disappears. It just sounds so wimpy. How can i make it good (like the Police on "walking on the moon"?

The main thing with the Bass POD xt Live (any of the Pods, really) is to take your time with the tweaking. You might also try the Line6 forums; there's a lot of good stuff already there! Hope this helps.

yeah but:
I all ready posted this on their forum with no replies. Unfortunately they also seem to like archiving their old forum and starting a new one, so that post will never get looked at. They don't seem to have experienced people there - only newbies looking for help.

I know that their presets need working on to be useable and I have spent some time of doing that. The chorus(es) escapes me. I was hoping for an answer from someone more - worldly.

Hi there,
It's been a while since i used a bass pod, but you should probably use the "analog chorus" model. Set your crossover around 400-600hz so you are only affecting the high end. For a Sting sound I would use lots of depth, probably 80-100% add some bass with the pedal model and use a slow speed. Tweak to taste. Don't forget Sting used a fretless on that recording. One of my favorite Police tunes.
Hope this helps,
Brent
