Line 6 Bass Pod XT Live - Useful?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, ive got a new bass pod that i've just started using with my new setup, which is a GK RB1001 head and a traynor tc1510 speaker setup. Problem is, if i patch my bass into the pod's input, put another patch from the pod's "model" output to the heads input, i find that it just sends the tone downhill. Even when set on Calibration (No tone mods on the Pod's part) it just sounds like it would minus the pod, but a little worse. am i using the pod completely wrong, or do i just need to spend hours on end to edit all my tones, including the presets? am i doing something wrong?

I had one for a while but recently went to stomp pedals. I think I had the same trouble as you. What I did is scroll through the edits. There is one that shows the volume if you bypass the amp model. This is frequently set at zero. Adjust that upwards and you should hear the difference. I had similar troubles hearing effects like chorus and to turn it up in the mix on the patches. Find some patches that sound good or have a noticeable difference and then look at them in edit mode and see how they are set up. Hope that helps.
