Line 6 DL4 Problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I've tried searching on this to no avail, basically I bought a dl4 a few months back, and have since been away so my toys were put into storage. I just got back and put my pedal board back together, they're all working great except the DL4 which has stopped working altogether. I bought a power supply for it a while ago and, despite not being the Line6 one, it did the job perfectly. The power supply is fine, but I am getting no life whatsoever out of the DL4.

Is this a common problem? If there is a solution without sending it back that'd be great. It's still within warranty but I've had several nightmare experiences sending stuff away for repair.

Thanks for your help!

what was the rating on the power supply you used? I think the DL-4 needs something like 1000MA at 18v AC.

Another thing is, it the efect chooser dial set to looper? Something that will happen and nothing will light up. Otherwise use that warranty you paid for man.

+1. Power supplies CAN fry pedals. Its a myth that using power supplies made by different brands will fry pedals (say a generic supply with a Boss pedal, etc.)

BUT, using a supply that uses a noticeably lower rating (possibly higher as well, of that I'm not sure) will strain and fry the innards.

There's also the dummy check, of making sure its not on Looper. I have done this with mine...

Plug the power supply and output cable in. Hold the first and last footswitches. Insert a cable into the input jack. This SHOULD reset it to fresh-from-factory settings. If that doesn't work, you're kinda stuck with sending it out for service.
