Live rig and sansamp BDDI question

I am gonna get another sansamp bddi for live use. im running a rbi now so i send the signal straight from the rbi to the board now.

But if i remove the rbi and replace it with the bddi , how should i connect it to my ampeg b2re head to ensure the colored tone that im getting to my cab, is the same tone going to the board?

You can't, but that's ok. Plug bass into BDDI, XLR out to house, 1/4" out to bass amp input/or bass amp poweramp in or effects return. You'd need a speaker level DI to do what you want, or use the amp's own XLR out if it has one. But normally, a CLEAN signal to the house is preferred.

my ampeg b2re has a xlr out so youre saying that if i go into the input of the b2re and xlr out to the house from the b2re ill get a matched tone through the pa?

Other guys looking at this thread would you rather want the colored tone or clean tone to the house?

The original concept for the Bass Driver DI was that you would plug into the BDDI and send the parallel output to your bass amp and use it as your onstage monitor. You would then send the BDDI's SansAmp XLR output to the board.

I'm a little confused by your post. Are you presently using the RBI direct to the board without an amp? Why not just use the RBI with your amp vs getting the pedal?

If you do run the RBI/BDDI into the front end of your amp you may not get an identical tone through the PA as your bass amp's speaker system will impart a different tone than the PA speakers will. Not saying it can't work but it won't be an identical tone.

And, as I mentioned already, if your amp has a DI output, use that if you want the amps tone to the board. You don't even need any Sansamp's. But most soundmen want a clean bass signal to the house.

You can run the xlr out to the board and tweak it for optimum tone then run the 1/4" out to the amp and tweak the amps preamp for a similar (or functional) stage tone.

My guess would be that they will sound similar but you can boost the highs and mids a tad at your amp to get a similar tone.
